****ing madness. If it's true that Ramos and a lot of the players were defending Lopetegui, we might get a France 2010 situation all over again and the players just don't play.
True but they where on the verge of having it taken from them. 3 years to go and they had no stadium building. Aside from Brazil South America has very little new stadium buildibg
What a story this is. I thought Spain would batter Portugal on Friday but now who knows. Brilliant stuff
Sky Sports News @SkySportsNews BREAKING: The 2026 @FIFAWorldCup will be hosted in the USA, Mexico and Canada.
Shame, it would have been good to have in Morocco, I can't help but feel that politics and possibly bribery have massively influenced the outcome.
Good. The inspection ratings for Morocco were sketchy at best, whereas USA/Mexico/Canada got pretty positive stuff across the board.
Only Uruguay/Argentina/Paraugay have confirmed a bid for that tourney. The only other rumoured bid is either England alone or a full England/Wales/Scotland/NI bid.
The additional £302m that FIFA get from the TV rights for a US staged competition might have helped a little. In reality, I don't think Morocco ever had much chance, they want to avoid controversy for the next one and Morocco had some dodgy bits in its bid, not least the fact that there was a decent chance they wouldn't be able to fund half the things they'd proposed.
Cuba, Slovenia and Spain abstained from the vote and Iran voted against both bids, all voting here... https://resources.fifa.com/image/up...fa-world-cup.pdf?cloudid=vpnl19m2xr8zk50mnor3
