Scored like 3 goals in 40 games for England hasn’t he? Most of his city goals have been tap ins at the back post after sane gets in behind. Don’t see England playing same way

De Bruyne is on ridiculous wages but if sterling thinks he deserves similar he is having a fecking laugh.

Besides if we had kept sterling we may never have had the 3 we have now.

 

Sterling would never have worked out with us if he kept his agent.

 

Why not ask for the same? He believes he is worth is and he has been a big part of City’s improvement.

The guy is 23 and gets in so many positions to score with his intelligence and movement, yes he missis as many as he scores but imagine him at 25 when he is calmer and wiser. He could be a golden boot winner many times in his future.

 

5th highest scorer in the PL this season after missing so many chances. What was Salah like at 23?

 

I think we would have already seen that real killer instinct from Sterling if he possessed it. He is scoring in a very high scoring side tbf

 

We would admit he is terrible in front of goal.

We all I think admitted that mcmanaman couldnt shoot for toffee but kept trying back in the 90s.

I think ok at city he will get lots of chances and win lots of medals but he isnt a natural finisher.

He has missed some spectacular ones.

 

He's been in and around the first team of a PL club for five seasons now, he should have already calmed

I don't see him making massive strides in the goalscoring department in the next two years. He got a lot this season but still doesn't look like a goalscorer.

 

Did you see Salah making the strides he made this season 2 years ago?

 

No but I also think this season was the freak of nature.

 

It's his first real chance in our league so we couldn't predict how he'd get on.
As has been pointed out, Sterling has been around this league for years now - he has a lot of experience in it. He has been in two teams that score a lot of goals, it's hard to see how circumstances could suit him any better.

 

He'll only score 40 next season
