Lara, Walsh and Ambrose all retired after the turn of the century, likewise Tendulkar, Dravid, Kumble, H Singh and Laxman.

Meh... gericalo for me Tendulkar and Ambrose are the only two I'd class as great out of those. Even if we accept the players you've mentioned they don't make great teams. If we're looking at the last 20-25 years, I'd class the top Test teams as Australia, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, and yeh India in terms of depth and balance.

All academic anyway as the 80's is where it's at. The standard of players was just different class back then... but then it had to be, you weren't playing fcking Scotland in Test matches <doh> (although Sri Lanka were the whipping boys back then).

70s and 80s was something else. We'll never see the like again.

They've messed with the game too much imo. It's not just the 20/20's, I was never in favour of the power play overs in One Dayers. All that eventually has an impact on the Test game. Then you have the money from the likes of the IPL. You factor all that in and players only want to develop in one way. The Chris Gayle of the 70's and 80's would've been 10 times the player of the modern era.

@Aldo discussing Scotland beating England is much like him discussing his pope hating team beating Glasgow's Vatican City!

Scotland's golden generation (70s-early 80s) were arguably better than England's golden noughties...still did **** all though.

Useless sweaty ****s. Mostly ginger and burn in anything above 5c, while drinking buckfast and injecting heroin.

You really don't understand his condition do you. You can face palm all you like, but he is utterly incapable of seeing anything other than literally. I am quite shocked that you still haven't picked up on this. I'm sure he has a real life diagnosis that would explain why he reacts as he does and it won't change however exasperated you get.

Ok. You just keep thinking he's thick and keep abusing him and see how well that works out. I'm sure you'll face palm him into thinking normally.
