Edit - I don’t know how everyone else feels, but I’d just like to see JM sold!!! Depending on which ‘red top' you read, then his potential destination changes. IMO, his best destination is Leicester, as he’d be more likely to be in the starting 11 regularly and he’d be close to the coaching business that he’s helped to set up and if he ‘cuts the mustard’ there, he can then move on to a ‘top six club’.
BBC running the Murphy to Cardiff story now, so it must have some legs. Might explain the Jordan Jones rumours? Sell Murphy for £10m+, replace him with a young, English replacement for sub £1m?

I am surprised that it is Cardiff that have apparently been successful in recruiting him. i was sure he would go to Brighton to be reunited with Hughton, Does make the Jones link much more realistic, but not the Paddy one, at least I doubt we will spend £5m on Murphys replacement. I see that ManU are now said to be in the JM stakes, according to Sky News anyway. Time for an auction, with a reserve of £28m.
I think the McNair thing is rubbish, no way we'd pay half of the rumoured fees. He's also a DM/CB, which we're relatively well stocked for right now.
As I said above, I think we'll struggle for goals if both Madders and Murphy leave. Every player has his price though and the test will be what we do with the money. Leitner on a permanent perhaps and Jones on the wing? The key though is who we sign up front. Looks like Wildschut will be staying now, so unless SW comes up with some gems it looks like another disappointing season ahead (and I'm an optimist!).
Either various websites are pulling figures out of thin air (most likely), or the fee for Josh is £11m
Sky Sports now reporting Murphy will have a medical at Cardiff tomorrow. I'm really in two minds about him leaving. I really like seeing an academy product in our first team, and he definitely has talent. As has been pointed out, if he and Maddison leave, we're losing a lot of goals from a team that didn't seem to have many in it. But £11m is a very good fee (£23m for the twins! Proves the value of the academy), and I can't help but feel pacy, tricky wingers with no end product are dime a dozen. We had the same in Redmond, who hasn't kicked on. Josh also looked somewhat lost in Farke's teams at times, so perhaps this allows Farke/Webber to do more of the deals they think we need.
Don't want to see Josh leave too, but seems inevitable. Will have to see what the initial fee is before I get interested in a £10M fee. Could be like, 3M with 5M if they stay up etc.
Farke doesn't seem to know how to play him, so in some ways, we don't lose out on much. Especially is Farke is here for the long term.
As ever, it's hard to really know how savvy the club are financially when they never release any details on fees. I can understand their reasoning, but perhaps they'd receive a bit more credit if we heard the odd thing. I was astonished to contrast it with the approach of Peterborough. It seems like if you give them a list of players, they'll tell you exactly who wants to buy who.
I try and look at it this way. If he wasn't a city player would I be happy if we spent 10m to buy him ? The sale of the Murphy twins will have paid for our academy and more. In my mind the academy and the sale of players developed through the academy is essential to our financial survival.
I went to quite a few home games last season and as I said previously, playing as a second striker was NOT making the best of Josh and on several occasions, his 'decision making' was suspect to say the least. I hope Colin gets a chance to work with him and get the best out of him!!!
Man Utd Keeper Dean Henderson who was on loan at Shrewsbury last season touted with loan move to championship, with City being a possible destination http://www.eveningnews24.co.uk/spor...rumours-manchester-united-henderson-1-5556865 If he does sign looks as though McGovern could be on his way out, would be good competition for Remi hope both get a fair crack of the whip and the loan rules do not stop both keepers progressing at City
The rumoured fee for Murphy is better than I hoped for. If we can get 10+ for him then happy days. Exciting player at times but the number of blind crosses into an empty box or snatched shots from a tight angle got a bit irritating at times last season. Suspect it was a confidence issue (as well as lack of support up front). A move would do him good (and us).
