You're debating with yourself. No one has said Wales were good enough to be there.

You are the only one to mention Wales, in what appears to be a perverted WUM against your fellow countrymen (assuming that you are in fact Welsh).

So, what will be the score between Russia and Saudi Arabia? Or does nobody care :emoticon-0112-wonde

I'll take a stab at Spain to win the whole thing with Uruguay as an outside bet.

Cameroon beat host nation Argentina in an opening World Cup fixture but I don't think Saudi Arabia have enough in their locker to beat Russia. Russia to win 2-0 in a nervy affair.

France to win the tournament with Mbapee being the new star

Totally off the subject, but looking to go to Crete later in the summer for the first, recommend any quieter resorts.

    I love the world cup.
I can't wait for it to start. It's just the best sporting event in the world.
I much prefer international football to moneybags football. It's a huge disappointment that Wales aren't there - but I'll still enjoy it.
I'll be cheering for Iceland, South Korea and Japan.

I wouldn't have said it's a 'resort' sort of place, based on our one visit. We had a car and travelled around a bit but it is tortuous, generally.

The first few games are usually boring affairs that end up a draw......

Russia v Saudi kicks off at 4pm not 7:45pm as stated in the OP.

I know you'll all be gutted to miss it

OP now amended. Leave me know if there are any other issues <ok>

As it is, I am looking forward to the game immensely and to all the other World Cup games! Our press would have you believe there is only one team entering the competition, but there are plenty of football fans who look at all the matches with equal interest. It would be great, although unlikely, if a rank outsider won it<ok>

That probably has to be the most boring opening game of a world cup I can remember. I probably will watch a bit of it as I am off on Thursday, no doubt to quickly turn the tv over. never know could be a stonking 5-4.

The England team visited an orphanage in Russia today.

"It's heartbreaking to see their little faces with no hope" said Vladimir, aged 6.

    So who's gonna win ???

Germany has appeared in 18 out of 20 World Cup finals

Germany has reached the World Cup Final 8 times

Germany has won the World Cup 4 times

Germany leads the 2018 FIFA world rankings

Germany has 9 players in its squad who won the World cup in 2014

Germany will always win a penalty shoot out, 4 from 4 in World cup

    ........ C'MON BRAZEEEEEEEEL!!!

World Cup is NOTHING without the Samba Boys,

Might not be able to post for a while, typing with broken fingers is just too painful

It seems to me that unless they now win it, the decision will be interpreted as a monumental mistake.

    As Lineker says ‘Increíble!’

This is so weird, The head of Royal Spanish Football Federation has only been in the job a couple of weeks and this is the first thing he does??????????????

Also, surely Ramos and the other senior Real Madrid players in the Spanish squad were consulted by Florentino Perez, Reals chairman, about Julen Lopetegui weeks ago so they knew all about it when Barca and other players in the squad didn't.

Also, why the hell did Real Madrid announce Lopetegui as their manager days before the start of the world cup when doing this could easily destabilize the Spanish squad as none Real players may feel that the new Real coach could favor Real players in treatment and selection.

3 countries hosting the 2026 world cup, Surely they cant let all 3 in without qualification, that would be unfair. nest it will be played all over one continent and lets let all the teams from that continent in. some may like this I think it is crazy, if a country cant host on its own or doesn't want to shouldn't be hosting it. just my opinion guys.
