They hardly beat him regularly. The WDC count is certainly in his favour. Whether he thinks they are his equal or not is another thing. With someone like Ricciardo, he'd know he would have to be on his game every race. Some drives just need that extra push to get the best out of them.
I've always wondered if 2014 was a bit of a fluke or if Sebastian has been flattered by good cars and poor teammates. Perhaps it's telling that he's so keen to avoid us getting a definitive answer to that question.
Ricciardo is in a completely different class to Rosberg or Bottas in my opinion, so to compete with his team mate he'd have to operate at his very best. That's not being disrespectful to either of those guys, just Ricciardo is outstanding.
Bottas certainly put Max in his place on lap 1, probably would've given him DoD if he hadn't made a mess of lapping Sainz. That it was the only thing of interest after T6 says it all about the excitement, Canada sometimes gives an awesome race, but generally that's because of rain. As to the accident, Hartley was totally innocent, but I wonder if Strololol lost the back because of the sudden loss of downforce at the back that has got the chief aero designer sacked at Williams?
Possibly the most boring Canadian GP ever? I don’t think they could have messed up F1 any worse than this current creation. Cars can’t follow one another, engines sound absolutely pants (I don’t care- I’m still banging this drum), we have a DRS to overtake, this reducing driver skill, and I think the same 3 teams have won every GP since Brazil 2012? (Correct me if I’m wrong). Never been a Moto GP fan in my life yet i watched the Italian race last weekend and it had some of the magic I used to feel in F1. It’s easy for people to say “Go and watch that instead then” and I get that, but surely people within F1 must be able to address its issues?
There was contact between Vandoorne and Stroll in T1. I wonder if that lead to the "puncture" that Stroll blamed? Hard to say. Hartley put himself in a position where he was always going to be run right against the wall, but I don't think you can blame him for trying the move. Racing incident.
Nah. Seb’s very good. I just think Leclerc could do a Hamilton/Alonso job on him. Which says more about CLC than Seb. I admit to bias though, as Jasper will tell you, I’ve been banging the Leclerc drum for a few years now!
ah, makes sense, that's where Vandoorne received his broken FW. Hartley had to go for the gap, the door was wide open and gave him the inside at T6. Fair play, he hasn't looked out of place in F1, though he is TM to Ericsson so we have no way of knowing how good the car is, they have the 2018 Ferrari now, that has been a massive upgrade for Sauber
If LeClerc did get the Ferrari seat next year, and he outperformed Vettel, would he get into trouble with his bosses? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
