Very pleased that this has been finalised at last (thanks JMF). Apparently he has worked hard on the defensive side of his game over the last season, which bodes well for his time here. I look forward to seeing what he can bring to next season.

It's good he'll get a full pre-season and it is going to be interesting t see if he has a favoured position.

He is an incredible player. Had a stunning season. Liverpool are signing some absolute worldies. Loved watching them last Season. They have added Naby, Fabinho and now possibly Fekir. Can't wait to see them play again. If they continue to push on, and get Allison from Roma... :emoticon-0104-surpr

I see there is some debate as to if/when he'll sign, but I'm pretty sure he will and yes, Klopp is signing some VERY exciting players. <yikes>
I still maintain that had Ramos not 'influenced' the outcome in Kiev, Liverpool have won the would have been European Champions!!!!

Will be interesting to see where they play him. He can play anywhere attacking. Wing, Striker. The position he made a fuss about playing this season, was central, behind a striker. So he can control play. He doesn't really want to be on the wing.

    Firminio
    Mane, Fekir, Salah
    Naby, Fabinho?

That's a scary set of players.

AM is usually mentioned first, but his versatility will be useful next season when we're likely to be using different formations for matches, mainly 4-3-2-1, 4-3-3 and 3-4-2-1. Much will also depend on who is playing up front and also who leaves (Josh is being rumoured again by HITC).

    A first interview with Buendia:

Apparently he's already started English lessons.

Comments on twitter from someone who knows a bit about our new signing:

A smart signing for Norwich, but also an exciting one. Emi is not without his flaws, but above all has major potential and if handled correctly can become a very good player. Main problems have been a lack of consistency and focus with Emi. At times he can switch off, become too casual. Saw red in pre-season, showed immaturity for example - but grew as season went on. Emi can play anywhere across the attacking line, and is particularly strong driving in from wide areas. I like him picking the ball up in the middle though, and running at opponents. Good eye for a pass in final third, has a shot on him...mainly uses speed and skill. Overall, Emi a good signing for Norwich. A player that could easily be playing in LaLiga next season, maybe even for a club lower down PL table. Let him adapt, give him support - could be fan fave/star in time.

Josh has blown hot and cold at times, but other than Madders, he's our only midfielder who has chipped in with goals (7 in all). Take away their 20+ goals and we'll have an even bigger mountain to climb next season. There's little to indicate many goals from Tettey, Trybull, Vrancic, Stiepermann, Hernandez, Watkins or Wildschut (if they stay). McLean and Buendia may produce some, but there's no guarantee of that while they adjust to the Championship. Also, if Murphy's replacement is going to be someone like Jordan Jones, I become even less optimistic.

I'd be disappointed to see Josh leave too. Hopefully some healthy competition from Hernandez and Buendia helps him, and hopefully Farke doesn't keep trying to make him play as a second striker.

He hasn't hit the heights of Jacob, and I don't think anyone is going to pay £10m+ for Josh given how well his brother has done. That said, if Josh feels he's getting a hard time from the fans, the opportunity to link up with Hughton might tempt him.

Another name thrown into the mix, Kilmarnock winger Jordan Jones. Rangers apparently bid £300k for him in January (which was rejected), but he's refused a new contract and only has 12 months left on his current one, so could well be available at a decent price this summer.

23 year old left winger, with 4 goals and 10 assists from 41 games last season. Having a quartet of wide players consisting of Murphy, Hernandez, Buendia and Jones sounds pretty good, but would surely be a luxury unless we're certain that 3 from Jarvis, Naismith, Wildschut and Watkins can be moved on.

I have to agree DH that the 2nd striker role was Josh's low point and with competition, it may well make him be more consistent.

Edit - I see the Fekir move is faltering - http://www.skysports.com/football/n...ansfer-negotiations-with-liverpool-have-ended, but I still expect him to be a Liverpool player next season.

Big Tim sounds uncertain of his City future. In a FB post he was doing some beach running with a number of hashtags, most interesting was #nomatterwhereorwhen referring to his readiness for next season.

    Bah!

It could refer to his keeping fit for the pre-season wherever he is at the moment. Time will tell.

Michael Bailey reports Murphy has been spotted in Cardiff, ahead of what he believes to be a deal worth more than £10m.

Apparently Wildschut failed to make enough appearances for Cardiff last season to trigger the contract clause that would have caused him to move to Cardiff permanently - so we're stuck with him for now too.
