Deal for Nabil Fekir not dead. @lfc wanted to restructure terms to reflect issues with medical. Lyon président Jean-Michel Aulas a notoriously tough negotiator, refusing - so far - to budge on agreed deal. Fekir still wants Liverpool, and talks will resume after World Cup David Maddock
This is likely be the case. I don't think the transfer is dead completely - Lyon president is a tough negotiator.
I just feel bad for Fekir. His head is probably already in Liverpool, especially after doing an interview with LFCTV.
if you are going to feel sorry for him it would make more sense to thik how worried he might be about the doubts the medical presumably threw up - quite possibly to do with club insurance iro of Fekir.
DO the club have any control over lfc tv or they not linked? Pretty bad doing an interview if we then **** about with fee.
If his head is in Liverpool and his feet are in Lyon/Russia, no wonder his knees are ****ed I'm here all evening
That seems a silly move if he has a good world cup. He may have said he wants to only play for us but if the big clubs take an interest we have lost what bargaining power we had.
If the medical concerns are that serious then we shouldn't be going for him imo. It seems like we're spotted something that's worrying but we're willing to gamble on it, except we want to re-negotiate on price because of it.
I do not get this. Never have done This happened with someone else recently with us but I can’t for the life in me work out who it was???? IMHO all **** like this does is make us look unprofessional - we don’t look like Tough negotiators we just look like we don’t know what we are doing. Forget the person as whether they have been successful or not is not he point. Utd want pogba, reports surface then deal is done Utd want Fred again same City with whoever really - same result Even spurs don’t mess Neither do chavs The list of our big players where there is an issue is unbelievable So frustrating as I really thought we had turned a corner. No idea on the player ability but gutted about how we go about our business Either way hope we have a plan b and tbf I do trust the team to get someone in just wish we didn’t have all this faff Whoever came up with the lean rule was spot on !!
It's disappointing, but if he has a serious issue then we've done the right thing. We couldn't have known the medical situation before the negotiations were advanced so I can't see what else we could have done tbh.
Still conflicting information. Some say medical to play, some say us trying to restructure, some say Lyon just never agreed a fee in first place
I think this might be a touch unfair to the club, especially since klopp has come in. We have shown a number of times that the money will be paid for who we want. If he has an issue, it lowers his value to us. Its not even hard bargaining, its common sense.
If Fekir does not come to us, who else will be in for him at the original price after the medical he had with us is public knowledge. If he does not move to us at a lower price his career could be feked
What do we know? There was a medical. There was an interview with lfc tv He cannot have signed a deal?. That's about it. What can we surmise? A) deal was likely and timing meant Lyon allowed a medical. Normally fee would be agreed before this but we regularly see deals on deafline day follow this. B) something is wrong with his knee C) fee is supposedly just under 50mil Tbh I'd not be shocked he turns up at another prem club and is brilliant.
Or, "The Ligue 1 outfit denied that any agreement had been reached between the two clubs on Friday morning, thought to because of their status as a publicly listed company. The Daily Mirror suggest that being a PLC means Lyon must make any announcement of significant business which could affect their share price, such as the club-record departure of their captain, known to the stock exchange first."
