    16:35 Haydock - King Robert e/w

(Conditions certainly in his favour, decent run LTO after a 224-day break. Stalls stand side, so draw seems OK. 14/1 best with Willie Hill seems to make it a sporting e/w bet for the weekend.)

    Good luck all! <ok>

Sometimes Oddschecker can be a real pain in the neck... I looked to see who was doing the best prices for my selections before heading out to the bookies.

I put two on with Paddy as he was equal best with Laddies and Hills. Then I go to Freds to find that he has now pushed both of those out to the same price and they are both B.O.G. races with him. I did the third one B.O.G. with him and then went to Hills for the last one to find that they had clipped the odds. <steam>

Just got to hope something wins. <laugh>

We’ve had a winner each even though they were both favs. Great atmosphere here at the moment. I’m on Gracious John(curtesy of Chelsea) the wife has backed Duke of Firenze in the next

thx a lot, mates! well,to be honest,i thought,he was way too high in the betting, given, what hes already achieved in his career.but, whatt the heck,a winners a winner, right?

    haydock,3 25

ive the feel, that JUDICIAL will run a huge race here.he ran really well last time out, against a fast improving filly, who also had the benefit of an outing already under her belt.he also had some of todays rivals behind that day,so is taken to confirm the placings today..

Meh, full of running De Sousa ****ed it coming out the stalls and held on far too long. Typical SDS for me, when you're against him he's unbeatable when you're on him his useless, little bit of profit though at 20s e/w so can't fully complain but should have been closer

Yes, if he had got a good start would have probably won. Didn't quite have the pace to make it up but ran on strongly. Good shout Chelsea

Has Mark Johnston been over to Canada to try out the weed? Or has he been taking economics lesson from John McDonnell?

According to Johnston (speaking to ITV Racing), he would do away with handicaps because they only exist for the bookmakers. Really? Where does a big chunk of racing’s finances come from, Mark? The Levy on the bookmakers’ turnover. And who sponsors most of those valuable handicaps? If you do away with handicaps, punters will stop betting because two thirds of the races will have short-priced favourites and will be nothing more than processions.

Luca Cumani thinks that God Given is up to the Lancashire Oaks standard. I totally disagree with him. She just scraped home against a horse rated a stone inferior than her – probably because of the fast ground – so it had better be easy ground for the Group 2.
