At the moment Kane could play for any club in the world, in 3-4 years time that won’t be the case. He ain’t gonna be sticking around at Spurs whilst they win the ‘putting the pressure on’ cup when he can be challenging for real trophies at a big club.
Spurs seem to have done a good job of putting a positive shine on this new contract and pay increase for Kane. Seems odd though that they would offer the pay rise in return for two extra years only 2years into a 6year contract. At this point the extra 2years dont add to his sell-on value. Either they are bring amazingly generous or some of the players agents are agitating for more money for the star players at Spurs.
If we want to maintain and grow from the huge improvement we’ve shown over the last 3-4 seasons, it’s vital that you retain the core of your team. Kane, Dele, Eriksen, Vertonghen, Son, also, have new contracts coming, Yes, Alderweireld will almost certainly go. He’s looking for a bumper last contract and his demands don’t meet the profile of the club. He’s nearly 30 and has only just recovered from a very serious hamstring injury. Those have a nasty habit of repeating themselves.
With City and United’s spending power which is probably similar to the budget for the whole of Africa do you see yourselves as premiership winners in the next 6 years?
Who knows? We’ll give it go. We’re not far behind Utd, except squad depth. City are currently in a league of one though. And with their spending power, it’s gonna be a lot tougher for all, not just us.
I thought United had a poor year for them but they will certainly be better next time out for sure. Liverpool will only get better as will Arsenal & Chelsea. Not sure City can get any better than they are now but what a staggering thought it would be if they did. I see all the above except City slugging it out for CL places like last season.
You’ll need to spend heavily to get significant improvement. As will Arsenal. Utd, maybe, we’ll see. City can and probably will improve, unfortunately. They’ll be very hard to beat again next season. Pool need a new keeper and a decent midfield. The current one isn’t fit for purpose.
