Leeds United have taken advantage of the ongoing uncertainty surrounding Aston Villa’s financial predicament by moving to see whether manager Steve Bruce is interested in a switch to Elland Road. Bruce is still completely in the dark about what is going to happen at Villa, with the club in serious financial trouble and teetering on the brink administration. That has alerted Leeds who have approached the former Manchester United captain through intermediaries to try to discover whether he would like to speak to them about their managerial vacancy. Leeds identified Argentinian manager Marcelo Biesla as their first-choice to replace Paul Heckingbottom earlier this week, but negotiations have been slow and there are growing reservations as to whether he is keen to manage in the Championship. https://www.telegraph.co.uk/footbal...aston-villas-steve-bruce-interest-managerial/
I’d like to see it happen just to see how long he lasts? They win a few games on the trot and they all get very excited and then... well you know the rest
Villa's final throw of the financial dice was to appoint Bruce to lead them to the promised land. That went well didn't it?
Didn't quite make it, no. Football, eh? It's almost as if it's unpredictable. Is his tenure over at Villa?
I posted something similar to this on the Villa thread. SB likes freshening up his squad. Transfers or loans. Selling players will pay bills and possibly, if sufficient is raised, ward off FFP punishments. He won't see a penny of it. Kids and cheap loans? He'll walk.
Christ. They were only a game away and he's not had long at all to turn them around completely. He's done a great job there.
Yes, a game away. The usual Bruce plan A, we have nil, nick a goal we win. And the usual SB plan B? There never was one here and there wasn't one evident that day.
Brucie plan b. He does have one. = " ho ho, i threw so many attacking players on 2nd half I didnt know what formation we were playing, chuckle chuckle". Pathetic. Nice enough bloke though.
