There is a cap and a lower limit.

The "current" levels of payments continue. that means what clubs get today they continue to get.

The assumption is growth is coming and coming hard. therefore a system of reward by league postion

the maximum is a ration of 1.8:1 so the 1st placed club gets 1.8 times what 20th place club gets

None of this seems unfair to me in the slightest.

the onus on clubs is to go do their best so 17th is not as good as 14th or 12th or 10th so when there are 10 teams fighting in midtable there is a massive incentive to actually try right til the last day to get higher in table.

the tony pulis 17th is good enough types have no place to hide then.

I like the idea that the clubs have to fight to be as high in the tbale as they can.

I am against non-collective TV right bargaining because it kills leagues but capped and performance related is good IMO.

In particular prevents the attitude of small clubs thinking 38 points and survival is everything. If you know your rivals could get significantly more money and strengthen then maybe you'll try to win a few more games.

    Think you missed the point.

Ie other clubs fans etc calling the top 6 greedy when if their club was in that situation be no different. Hence why I said hypocrites.

Amazon getting deal to show game is interesting.

20 games over 2 game weeks. Means they will show all 10 games on Boxing Day so you can actually watch any game you want.

Now in terms of value for money, not really worth getting prime just to watch football as you can only feasibly watch 2 games out of those 20. However it does open the question if that kind of option is going to become the norm over the next 5-10 years etc

Amazon acquires rights to show Premier League games in UK
    https://www.ft.com/content/9f268ccc-6a41-11e8-8cf3-0c230fa67aec

How can I watch these games on Amazon?
You will need a Prime membership, which costs £79 a year or £7.99 a month.

In addition to live action, there will also be weekly highlights of all Premier League games throughout the season, although it has not been announced when that will be broadcast.

Prime can be streamed on any Smart TV, mobile device or through an Amazon Fire TV Stick.

Amazon, which started as an online retailer, already broadcasts the US Open tennis, ATP World Tour Tennis events and NFL games.

This is why England games should be spread around England and not just played at Wembley.

Half te capacity at Leland road but the atmosphere for a friendly against Costa Rica is prob best I’ve seen in an England game for god knows how long.

I don’t see it happening personally. Value wise it’s just not with it. £79 a year to watch 2 games on 2 diff dates? If they get more games then maybe or do some kind of deal where can just get the sports for less etc

Agreed. Was so much better when Wembley was being rebuilt and the team traveled around.

My secretary's son was an England mascot tonight, they won a competition. He was the giant 10 year old that came out last in the line, he is 5ft 5" already and only 10. There again she is 6ft 1" so it must be in the genes.

The point is that if you took the parachute payments away then loads of clubs would go to the wall due to the financial gap between the divisions, like I say they're an unfortunate necessity. Also I'm not sure that this a better alternative than the top 6 breaking away... think fans of most smaller clubs have got to the point where they wouldn't care if that was to happen, though personally I think it's naive to not realise that there would still be the top clubs in that scenario it would just be different teams to what it is now.

As for causing arguments, moi? Never :bandit:

Winter break for Premier League clubs in February from 2019-20

please log in to view this image

Premier League clubs will have a winter break in February from the 2019-20 season.

The break will be staggered across two weeks, with five matches on the first weekend and five the following weekend.

The FA Cup fifth round will be moved to midweek to accommodate the break, with replays being scrapped at that stage.

The Football Association described it as "a significant moment for English football" that "will greatly benefit club and country".

"It's no secret that we have a very congested fixture calendar and over recent years we have been working with the whole game to find a solution," said FA chief executive Martin Glenn.

"As we head into summer international tournaments in the future we are sure that this mid-season break will prove to be a valuable addition for our players."

All three divisions of the English Football League (EFL) will remain unchanged, with a full programme of fixtures taking place on each of the weekends where there is a https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/44414487break.
