Reports emerged late last night from France that Liverpool and Lyon had finally struck a deal for Fekir to complete a move to Anfield. French newspaper L'Equipe claim Liverpool will pay up to £53million for the midfielder, with the initial fee being around £48m. With the transfer window opening earlier this season, Liverpool have looked to get their business done early.
I love how in one breath klopp is **** and relegated Dortmund somehow and the next he is that good he is off to the biggest club in Europe. Standard wum fare.... if he stays...****... if he goes.. ha you lost a worldie.
Paul Joyce and co confirmed that amount as well.. Really good price - was expecting to pay £60m plus.
Get a keeper in. I doubt we’ll buy big here - the Leno rumour is gathering pace...that’s probably more likely at around £25m. Wrong decision imo but we have to either pay big or feed on the likes of Leno or butland. Reckon after a keeper, we’ll sit tight, make sure we have no injury nightmares during the World Cup and then offload after.
Rumours saying the main sticking point was wages... He's apparently getting 175k a week. Fabinho must be happy on a measly 85k. Imagine having to get by on that. Shame for Fab really.
Those 3 will be on about 450k a week combined though. What was Coutinho on? 200k? Anyway we have to shift some high earners. Sturridge and Mignolet spring to mind.
You are right there. Sometimes we over estimate what a player will be getting but we do know i think that VVD is on 150-180k so on his own he takes up what coutinho was on (180k) Fekir and fabinho... who knows. 120k each min? I read 100k for fabinho but if its that low i'd be amazed. fekir... nothings known yet. I would expect to see sturridge off loaded though.... if we can. you are right the books must be balanced on wages for prem league rules too.
