That's up there with one of the worst pieces of umpiring you will ever see.

Our fielding has been poor throughout the group, but nothing on the level of tonight.

Continue like that, and we're not winning this competition.

Somerset must be kicking themselves. One more point and they would have gone through!! Well done Hampshire. A home semi!! Might get Essex again!!

The worst moment in my memory watching Hampshire was a Gillette Cup match against Lancashire at Old Trafford in the mid 70s. It was a beautiful day, just perfect for a Hampshire side containing two of the greatest batsmen ever seen, Richards and Greenidge, plus some very good ones further down the order. I am sure everyone was looking forward to a wonderful display of batting. Alas, it was not to be, as Hampshire were dismssed for less than 100. It was up to Andy Roberts to try and make as many inroads as possible. He made a few but sadly, Hampshire limped out of the tournament.

Well done Worcs, just. I didn't want Notts jumping straight through to the SF (even though it would have guaranteed that we avoided them in the SF).

What a misfield at the end though.

Hants to play Essex or Yorkshire. Avoided a potential Notts semi which is ideal.

I will take that. Hopefully Yorks defeat Essex, because they'll be missing Root, Bairstow, Rashid, Willey and Plunkett. But of course that makes defeating Essex (who will presumably have Cook, should they wish to pick him) that much harder for them.

I didn´t think Cook was playing the 50 over game!! Not that they need him too much in this format as they are a formidable team. Hampshire owe Essex a beating, who narrowly defeated a Malcolm Marshall inspired Hampshire in the Nat West many years ago.

He came in for their QF last year, and scored a 100.

It'll be a brave call to leave him out. But equally, yes, Essex's top order has done very well this season.

I'm intrigued to see what bowling attack we play today. Crane, Steyn and Holland all available for the first time; Abbott and Fidel nicely rested up; Berg practically undroppable. And at the other end, without Amla and Northeast (and even Alsop), we're very light on available batters.

It might well be a five man attack, batting at 7 - 11, with Dawson in the top 6 as sixth bowler. But even then, we need to leave out one of Fidel, Abbott, Steyn, Crane, Berg and Holland.

Makes is a struggle to follow Hants-Surrey four day games. You know Burns will score a 100.

And that's before you then turn to Pope, who has two of his three career 100s against us.

I imagine the pitch is flat, as you would expect at the Rose Bowl in June. But I can't say that I have much faith in our batting line taking advantage of that, and dealing with their big-name bowlers as well as our big-name bowlers have been dealt with.
