The problem at arse is that they can't afford to roll any heads, that was their best 11.

They appear to be as messed up as Everton. If I was someone like Cahill, I'd stay at Bolton, rather than risk it in London.

Elpistolero, I could be wrong but I agree with a lot of what you say

I think our style is exactly the style United hate playin against( Barcelona anyone, intense pressin when they dont have the ball),I can see Lucas,Kuyt,Hendo,Stevie,Suarez all playin v the mancs cos none of them give u time and space in possesion which United cant stand

To be fair that was not arsenals first eleven but even a second string should have put up a better fight.

And Utd fans say the same thing Y/N?,and those around at the time probably said pre 1973 that Utd would never end up as a laughing stock and get relegated to the 2nd division.

    Spot on.
Best comment on the day. Liverpool do have players that Man United hate playing against. Man United love playing against teams that will go toe to toe with them and let them have the ball, and then attempt to hit on the break. Liverpool don't do that, when Man United are in posession Liverpool will badger, bully and unsettle, they have more than just Lucas that does it. Kuyt, and Suarez do it. Liverpool have added Charlie Adam who can also do it.
When a team dominates the central midfield, the oppositions wide players become useless, they can't perform, the attackers are isolated. Look at how in March how Hernandez for 91 minutes looked like a little boy lost and Rooney ended up playing full-back and chasing shadows.
Kenny will flood the central midfield, Liverpool will play have a 4-5-1 when defending and it will turn into a 4-3-3 when on the attack. However it will be more effective with Downing on the left and Kuyt on the right plus you have the mercurial Suarez that will turn defenders a number of different directions at the same time.

If you had played the Arsenal side that beat Udinese on Wednesday, it wouldn't have been anywhere near that score. Maybe 2-0 or 3-1, but not 8-2.
You may point to the average age of both teams being 23, but in terms of average experience, the teams were miles apart.
Arsenal may as well have not bothered with a defence. Djourou is terrible at the best of times, Koscielny has a bit of pace and nothing else, Traore is even worse than Djourou (he was floating around the RB position when Nani scored, despite being played at LB) and Jenkinson was making only his second league start.
Coquelin was also making his debut, while the front 3 of Arshavin, Walcott and van Persie have been below par so far (maybe not RvP so much, but the other two weren't at it at the end of last season.)
You can get so far with a solid defence and a poor midfield and attack, sneaking a few 0-0 draws and the odd 1-0 win, but you'll never win anything when your only strength is your front line.
Man for man, Liverpool are far better than that Arsenal side that went to Old Trafford yesterday, so while United are in with a chance of winning, they're never going to put 8 past us.

    Sorry.
The most Man United will get at Anfield is a draw. There is no chance whatsoever of them winning. Liverpool have players that will do things they don't like and that is they will bully, badger and annoy.
As I said, expect Kenny to flood the midfield, with Gerrard, Adam and Lucas, Lucas being the one that doesn't move, he just plonks himself in front of the back four. He will not let anything past him. Also expect either Kuyt and Suarez to drop deep and win possession, Man United will end up chasing shadows.

Never say never Of course I want us to win, and am confident we will. But we said that against Sunderland, and United as far better.

We ran out of gas against Sunderland, and with the number of new signings that debuted the same day, there seemed to be a bit of nervous energy, players on their debut afraid of making a mistake.
I believe a better reflection is the game against Bolton, they didn't play well, because quite frankly they weren't allowed to. Thats exactly how important our central midfield will be against Man United. They can only play well if we let them, and for the life of me, I cannot see Kenny setting up his team to allow them to play.

So far this season Man Utds rubbish midfield of Cleverly and Anderson has seen off the challenge of Man City, Spurs and Arsenal. Regardless of the players involved in the games thats 3 of the likely top 6 beaten by our rubbish midfield. Its not our fault they are worse than us ( embarrassing in Citys case mind considering the money spent ).

I feel we will win at Anfield this season, 2-1 and we will come from behind to do so. We will be out played in parts but there is no way at all you will cope with our attack all game. I cannot see any team who will in the PL.

You guys seriously underate Cleverly and Anderson though. Defensively there is work to be done but going forward they are the business already. Once Vidic is back and the defence gets its grove back we will have a near perfect team and if we concede goals I am confident we will simply outscore the opponent as I seriously dont see a defence in the league we couldnt put at least 2 past this season.

When has your midfield outplayed city, dont tell me you are counting a pre season friendly. As for you scoring two against every defence, it took a flukey own goal and a bit of luck to beat west brom.

You struggled in against west brom because of your midfield, you had plenty of possession in there but could not get anywhere because they harried and closed you down more than arse and spuds did.

It was the first game of the season and by no means an easy place to go ( as you know full well seeing as you lost last season against WBA ). The community shield was anything but a friendly, Chelsea dont consider it a friendly either. Its a great marker for the season and the fact the winner generally goes on to win the league is also another reason its not taken lightly. The teams take it as seriously as they would the League Cup nowadays.

So our midfield has outplayed Citys, Arsenal and Tottenhams midfields this season. Many many more will be outplayed by it aswell.

    Answer on topic
Would not happen to big of a game for both sets of players but it has got to be the worst feeling on any team
Yes Arsenal have got a lot of injury's and a few suspensions but that is still a bad result
I hope the players hang their heads in shame let Arsene fans and club

As for us vs T'ham it will be tight 1 but i think we will win the game not by a big scoreline but we will get the 3 points

Its a great marker for the season now. Since Mourinho came to Chelsea the League Cup and Community Shield have both taken on new meaning. Granted they are no FA Cup, PL, CL and are no where near but they are no longer jokes that are treated like a kick about in a park.

Also keep doubting United and expecting big things from Liverpool. Tell me though, hows that been working out for you in the past 20 years?

That wasn't even Spurs first choice central midfield. Not in a million years is Krancjar a central midfielder. Modric wouldn't play because he realised something most of us already know, Spurs are a small club and Redknapp is a useless manager. Palacios and Sandra sorry Sandro were both injured.

We were losing and should of lost. What it told me and many others is United will never give up and that is bad news for everyone elses club this season.

Why is it a small select number of Liverpool fans cannot have sensible discussions with United fans? Are you under 10 Molby? If not why act like that?

Skylarker, KPR aka EMF, Luvgonzo, Chriswoods, Hash, Lil Jatt, B4F, Ze Liverbird and others seem to manage it, why cant you and the last few remaining ones. Just because you are LFC fans doesnt mean you cant have normal, sensible discussions.

I made this thread on here as the only club who would feel worse from a defeat like we gave Arsenal yesterday is Liverpool.

KPR the Spurs team who played in CL last season are rubbish? Hardly.

They are being ripped apart at the minute just like Arsenal. Both are still great clubs and I for one would put my house on both being top 6 come May.
