In a bid to prove Guardiola wrong, Yaya Touré has declared that he will play in England next season for £1 a week wages. Andrew Muir’s first Charlton signing ?

Is it also a question of who the money is owed to? As far as I was aware Charlton don't owe any money to Banks. It is all owed to Duchatelet. (I'm not sure about the money owed to ex-directors. Is that counted as part of the Club's debt?) And hopefully the scary 140% of income going on player wages has been at least partly addressed by now.
Everton's new Director of Football was authorised by their [foreign] owner yesterday to give Everton fans a very clear statement setting out what the Club would/would not be doing this summer. This seems eminently sensible, and given that the Aussies have been trying to buy Charlton for 12 months now, I think it would be a good idea for them to do something similar. Nothing grandiose and inflated - just a simple mission statement to fans about what the priorities will be over the summer at least. I think 99.9% of long suffering Charlton fans will be happy with that.
We may have no Manager, CEO, CFO, no new owner yet. But the pitch will be good next season. https://www.cafc.co.uk/news/view/5b17b1789d692/valley-pitch-work-begins-ahead-of-201819-season

If it is me that has upset Elfs. Mea Culpa. I seem to be upsetting a number of people at the moment. I am going for the Royston award.
Good idea. In the interests of fairness we've had a straight couple humping, now we need a gay couple on the job.
The Flying Monk predicted July 17th, was it not? Ponders will correct me if I'm wrong. He did not specify the year.
In case anyone hasn't read Bleak House, the case collapsed because the funds ran out after years of wrangling, nothing was achieved, but all the lawyers went home happy with the living they had made in the meantime. They congratulated each other on the level of debate.
TFM is currently off the grid while holidaying in Southwold. I'll get in touch with him upon his return, but I do remember him saying the takeover would happen soon after the end of the World Cup. Unfortunately, I can't say with any certainty which World Cup he was on about.
Yeah, he was a bit vague about which July 17th it would be too! Not like that nice Mr Murray who said february
