My thoughts on World Cup betting? Don't. Had 50 on Germany at 6s last tournament, and that's probably the last time I won a football bet
Raheem Sterling should surely lose his place in the England squad, after having an assault rifle tattooed on his leg. What sort of role model to our aspiring youth is he?
Varney has to cover his tattoo when he plays PL or England football.... Sterling should be forced to do the same.
His defense is that his father was shot dead when he was two, and this is his way of reminding himself of his vow never to touch a gun. Hmmmmmmm. He could have made it less prominent. In this day and age it does not look good.
I see that moron Piers Morgan has waded in on twitter. The response has been of a shooting fish in a barrel type. Piers favourite team, Arsenal, have pictures of cannons on their badge and around their stadium, while his dimbulb friend Trump has yet to condemn gun ownership in his country, despite the fact that more children are dying becausenof guns than members of the US armed services. Usual pre world cup attack on the players by the patriotic gutter press in England.
The only thing Raheem Sterling can do that is worthy of widespread press comment in my opinion is help England win the World Cup. Preferably without "anticipating contact" or whatever else cheating is called these days. Anything else he does, whether it be in his own time to his own body or on a football pitch for £170,000 a week is of no interest to me whatsoever.
Poor Raheem picked up a yellow card this afternoon, very harsh of the referee I thought. Couldn't he have cut the lad some slack? It's not like Sterling means to fall over unconvincingly in the penalty area. The kid just can't help himself.
Nonsense really Ken (I see your political mates in Spain have had another great week, playing Top Trumps on who is the most corrupt ...thank God we are getting out !) Personally I’m looking forward to the World Cup (I’ve backed Belgium £20 at 12/1) and a saver £10 France. I wouldn’t have Elf’s willy cloth on England and have got minimal interest in their games as I don’t like or identify with many of the players. Belgium will totally outclass them in the Group decider with Hazard running rings round that pair of mules Henderson & Dier. Watch the nation turn on Sterling & Welbeck etc as we go out in the first knockout stage. Bobby Moore, Sir Bobby Charlton, Gordon Banks, Sir Trevor Brooking and Gazza are my England icons ....not a bloke with an AK47 tattooed on his arse !
Belgium and France are a good call , can’t see us doing too much to be honest but like Charlton you have to dream !
Featured on BBC's world Cup countdown today is Carlos Alberto's 1970 goal. Imo the greatest goal ever scored. (Sorry, just checked again, that was yesterday's goal. It's Maradona's "Hand-of-God" goal today
Don't need top trumps mate. A quick browse through the bank accounts might be better. Alternatively try and find enough honest ones to form a party. As for the world cup I have no optimism. I'll just hope we do well and then sulk and stop watching when Japan knock us out after the group stages.
Been watching a film about Scotland's 1978 adventure in Argentina on BBCIplayer. I was surprised to see my old friend from Kilmarnock, Jim Todd (aka Toad), featured. By coincidence we ended up room-mates for 5 weeks there. Despite the footballing humiliation, it was a fantastic holiday, due mainly to our rapport with the wonderful Argentinian people. Even as we left, the airport staff were buying drinks fro our accordian player.
That was a really memorable World Cup. Mario Kempes ...the tikka tape...a brilliant Dutch side....Peru and Iran....and Archie Gemmill’s famous goal.
The only black mark was Peru's surrender to Argentina, when Argentina needed to win by 4 goals (they won 6-1). It was after that game that they changed the rule, to make the last round of games in any group played simultaneously.
Well anybody wondering who the blonde in the grey dress was at the England game on Thursday night ... https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/football/6481349/stunning-tv-presenter-steals-show-england-world-cup/ As one of the comments at the bottom said ..."bang tidy".... how long before she is one of the Sky Sports News girls? Not many good things come out of Leeds but she seems to buck the trend
