I think the 'LFC only' thing is clever on our part - we must tell the player to go and announce that because we know the selling club are happy to have our interest sitting at the top of the transfer rumour mill so other clubs can come in and drive the price up. Stating that they'd only move to us stops that bidding war nicely and hopefully moves the transfer along.
I see that Salah is now being linked to Barca. That’ll be £100m plus Dembele then. He’d be mad to go there, he’s never have the freedom that he has with us.
mine.... I think we need that forward after fekir and then look at what is the priority at the back. Fabinho, kieta, fabinho is 3 CMs... huge change as lads have said the forwards need cover/someone pushes them out.
I wouldn't have thought a football stadium and ideal venue for boxing. I don't watch much boxing... But don't the seats need to be closer to the ring? Unless it's a mass brawl spread out over the entire field. Last one standing wins. I don't think we can get Stoke to play Millwall at our stadium though.
Its a case of there is a good local get of boxers but goodison hosts some. Really its about big big fights.. i would say there wouldn't be many. You put in a ring, then seats close then the stands. its not like madison square gardens doesn't hold 20k. I think the pitch is JUST ABOUT (barely) big enough for grid iron. Not really a fan of sports with heavy impact and churning motions on the pitch TBH... Same for concerts. TBH sunderland have done well out of it. If we could corner the market as it were in the region great but again theres lots of stadia like everton who want the business too. I can't see 10 events per year TBH. That'd be extreme. I could see a major band taking 5 of them. ed sheeran for 5 days running
Matip has gone way down in my estimation yes but I just can't bring myself to put lovren in a "dream" lineup. I get you, klopp is going to pick him but that doesn't mean i have to. Matip for me after the west from FA cup game went from decent to way way down the pecking order.
Is Wilson good enough yet to be a deputy to Salah? The Shaqiri interest would actually be valid in that he can be a decent back up for a couple of the front 3. By decent, I mean that he’s capable of hurting mid table and below - especially in a team that plays like us. Lack pace but can drop a shoulder and go past players. For £12m we can’t lose really.
''Three possible stage settings are being considered dependent upon the requirements of the particular event: North east facing stage – In front of the Anfield Road Stand (end-on) South west facing stage – In front of the Kenny Dalglish Stand (side-on) Central stage The current capacity of Anfield for football use is 54,074. Depending on where the stage is located, it’s anticipated the stadium could accommodate up to approximately 60,000 people for concerts.'' http://ymliverpool.com/liverpool-fc-submits-anfield/33788
When you see the likes of Wembley, its too big. Anfield is a very tight stadium with the seats right on the edge of the pitch and go back quite steep. Probably suits it well.
What are the plans for a fully developed Anfield and what was the finished capacity? I recall all stands were due to be increased in capacity in a phased approach but can’t find those early reports now
no or maybe no on wilson. We at the end of the day have a new welsh international who's done "ok" on loan. We need to take the view at some point like TAA that if we can bring a local boy in that can make a difference we should do. I think personally we should look during july at wilson and see if klopp thinks he is up to it. Then the question will be - do we need ANOTHER on top. I think we need to buy someone anyway to cover all 3.
The current Anfield Road End holds just under 9,000 supporters but has heavily obscured views in the back sections of the lower tier. The new stand will have fully unobstructed views and will house around 16,000 supporters. The increased capacity will be 61,000.
The plans are not final. it was 58.8k with anfield road end done, this is not enough to make the project viable. The planning is only at preliminary stage and runs out in 2019. The rumours and innuendo suggests up to 61k but FSG have said they are not even thinking until kirkby build is complete So I don't expect a build announcement frankly unitl at least next summer (2019) and then completion... 2021? the fact is FSG don't care enough baout it form revenue perspective and obviously the fans who can't go don't matter
Liverpool are reportedly ready to launch a bid for Bayer Leverkusen goalkeeper Bernd Leno. German outlet Bild report that the Reds have joined Arsenal and Atletico Madrid in pursuit of the Germany stopper. The 26-year-old is looking to leave Bayer this summer after his club completed a deal for Lukas Hradecky from Eintracht Frankfurt last month. Liverpool are set to table a £25m offer for him in the next few days and want Bayer to confirm whether a deal is possible before the World Cup.
