Wtf?? Fast, young left back, played for Juventus and Arsenal?? What more do we want?

Give the kid a chance before you all blow him out the water, or we will end up with Hill/Connolly at LB all season getting raped. :(

The kid's young and hungry. He's been in some pretty unforgiving set-ups. I reckon he could benefit with some Warnock-type tlc for a season or so...

21 / 22 is a great age for learning and skill and confidence building.

i would have him,he's young but given a chance could be arround for years, Arsenal never had a defence yesterday and there young full backs were exposed to United pace they never had a chance.

The way Arsenal set up yesterday was suicidal. He will be comfortable on the ball and with some pace will be an asset, any Arsenal player will have ball-playing skills so he'll be an improvement on what we've got. A centreback is a priority now...

Don't always see eye to eye with you bakes, but that's spot on!!
He is quick and good on the ball. He was also desperately exposed against Man U yesterday. Really don't think you can judge him on that performance. Give him a chance ffs.

I forgot Hulse, but can we really hold that against Warnock? He bought him on the transfer deadline day and only because he wasn't given the backing to bring in anyone else.

Oh, come on Lone, NW has been great for the club but let's not give him a halo. His record in signing forwards has been poor at pretty much all the clubs he has been at and Hulse was an unmitigated disaster which Warnock was very slow to recognise. I'm hoping that Bothroyd will be a change of fortune for him (and us) in that respect.

No, of course not. I was just reminding you of him!! Nelly's transfer record with us has, to date, been marvelous (although the Bruno Perone one does confuse me!). Every manager makes dud signings, its part and parcel of the game. Even the great one, Sir Fergie, has had his flops.

Considering that our squad players are pretty crap by Prem standards, i can only guess that NW see's potential with this lad. If he develops he will be a first team player, if not he can always be a useful squad player for us. He is prob not costing that much so he wont break the bank. IMO a decent signing, fingers crossed that he will develop into a good team player.

he's also got a bit of previous :
"In September 2007, Traoré returned to White Hart Lane, but this time only as a spectator when he was arrested for carrying knuckle dusters into the stadium. Traoré and a friend were taken into custody for questioning and Traoré was given a formal warning"

Just gone onto Wikipedia to help find any links to this incident to see if I need to get back onto my high horse and noticed that apparently he has shirt number 30 - unless that is a relic from his Arsenal days.

It is his Arsenal number, Troy Hewitt is our no 30.

A YOUNG Arsenal star was arrested on suspicion of carrying a lethal knuckle-duster at the Spurs match on Saturday.

French international Armand Traore, 17, was allegedly caught with the weapon outside a turnstile at White Hart Lane.

The first team squad member, who was not playing, had gone to watch with a pal.

Stewards are said to have seen him acting suspiciously and asked him to turn out his pockets.

Police were called and both men were arrested on suspicion of possessing an offensive weapon.

They were taken into custody for questioning and Traore was given a formal warning.

A club insider said: “Armand had no idea he’d done anything wrong because the laws are different in France.”

An Arsenal spokesman said: “He has apologised.”

    -------

He doesn't appear to be a serial offender, but does he really expect anyone to believe he didn't know it was wrong.
