People happy to sell Lemina are making my brain ache.

 

Particularly given that we all full well know that 40m from a sale does not mean 40m available for purchases. Or anything close to it.

 

I'd be very disappointed if we sold Lemina this summer. We've had one season from him in a poor team with no confidence, and with a terrible manager. We all know he's very talented and has the potential to be one of the best in the league in his position. We've seen it on occasion and if we can get him to produce it on a more regular basis next season, then its win win. We get an excellent player for a season and the clubs asset goes up in value and they can make a bigger profit next summer.

 

Can't argue with any of that.

That player does not exist (the one who is committed to the club). Unless he either isn't very good, or he doesn't have an agent.

 

I'd rather take Lily Allen.

 

I think Villa are in the **** primarily because they gambled on promotion and the gamble didn't come off.

Which suggests that we may eventually have been looking at a huge problem had we not managed to stay up.

 

Yeah, it's for that reason that I was all for selling everything that wasn't nailed down if we were relegated. The Championship has fairly strict rules on debt accrual that isn't covered by the owner, and like Villa I don't think that our owner has the capacity cover losses. We have to spend to stay up, but if we go down, we really can't gamble on a quick return.

 

Bild in Germany reporting that Arsenal are after Lukas Klostermann from Leipzig, but Tottenham and Southampton are also showing interest.

 

Yeah, I remember you saying that when we were staring down the barrel of a gun. At the time I thought you were being your usual pessimistic self , but stories coming out of Villa Park suggest you may have been bang on the money.

 

If he makes a mistake it`ll be a Klosterfokk. Or something.

This can put the Instagram stuff to bed that he won't be here next season.

 

One of my associates is a die hard Villan and he tells me that they smashed every spending record in the Championship last year and are now absolutely screwed.

 

I'm glad we do things the right way here.

 

We do? I wonder how much SFC have wasted in the transfer market since promotion on players who have either failed to perform, or were benched pretty quickly? Boufal? Carillo? Classie? Osvaldo? Ramírez? The Norwegian defender? That is quite a lot of money to have frittered away down the plug-hole without much of a return. Add in the length and cost of salaries, and we can see how fortunate we were that Swansea mangaged to snatch relegation from our grasp.

 

Villa will survive!!

 

Ah! that myth again. You have to speculate to accumulate and with the TV money, it encourages more risk. But all clubs suffer. It could be a lot worse. Look at Liverpool for example....
