Alright, i'm doing a feature on the Liverpool board called 'Loan Watch' and it keeps the Liverpool fans updated with how our players who got sent out on loan are getting on. Now, i'm sure you're aware that you have got the Liverpool goalkeeper Peter Gulacsi on loan from us for the season. I had a look at some stats and I noticed that Peter hasn't played in your last two league games against Reading and Crystal Palace. I was wondering what you thought of him? Has he played well for Hull this season? How come he hasn't played in your last two league games? It is injury or loss of form?
played 3 games. in one he was outstanding. in the other two he looked like a sunday league amateur. word is he is on his way back when we get cover
Yeah it's widely believed we are trying to terminate the loan which, after 3 games, probably says quite a bit. The defence look terrified playing in front of him- lack of communication and inconsistently coming out of his goal.
we were beaten 4 - 1 at leeds and we probably had around 70% of the game (without a great deal of atticking threat to be fair). however, i, and many more, would put 3 of the 4 goals directly down to Gulacsi
Not sure how you work that one out. It's pretty obvious that the defenders lost faith in him at Leeds, that game will have shot his confidence. It's a shame because he played very well in the 1-0 win at Ipswich and has shown signs of promise. Once El-Hadary signs next week, Gulacsi will be sent back to Liverpool
He looks a bag of nerves, that's not a good thing in a keeper.Peter has the ability to be half decent. Maybe he's just not happy in Hull !
Looked very shaky, a bit more experience with Liverpool reserves or a league 1/2 team will do him goog.
He's not ready to play at this level, he looks scared to death, I doubt we'll ever see him again. He was completely at fault for goals two and three at Leeds, it was almost pantomime.
Too add to what has already been said really. I'm not sure what Liverpool see in him to rate him so highly? He seems to flap at crosses and he's indecisive. He needs major work if he is to fulfil his potential that Liverpool clearly think he has. He's miles off the level of performances we had off Arsenals equivalent young keeper Vito Mannone.
As above he needs to drop down a level, good job Reina didn't pick up a knock when he was your back up
The defenders clearly had absolutely no faith in him. It was literally the most obvious case of this I had ever seen and once that has happened I can only see the very, very strongest of characters turning this around, and from the bag of nerves displays he has shown he simply hasnt got the constitution for this. He would only play for us again in a catastrophic emergency and that suits neither us, Liverpool or the player so I imagine the sensible solution all round would be for him to return with our apologies. Would it be an exageration to say he's the worst keeper we have had since Iain Hesford?
Absolutely outstanding keeper despite what these lot say ignore them. Very solid, great shot stopper. Catches alot of shots I believe most others could only hope to punch away at best, and when he is forced to punch he's brilliant at it, always makes sure it goes safely out of play and never in the path of an opposing striker. His distribution is second to none and he is possibly the most confident keeper I have ever seen in our goal in the 18+ years I've been watching city, which shows with our defence who look even more confident when he's behind them. To cut a long story short I can't quite understand why he isn't your first choice, he's easily one of the best keepers I've ever seen in my life and will only keep getting better.
Can't wait to see how the OP's loan watch feature ends up after reading this thread. Good luck with it.
He had a couple of bad games, particularly Leeds away when he was at fault for two goals (OLM says 2 and 3 but I'm sure the 3rd was a free kick). However I think people are hyperbolising his poorness a bit much. He hasn't been anywhere near as bad as some are making out.
