It seems the situation is really bad, Dr Xia has money troubles in China, he's desperately trying to sell part or all of the club and there's a realistic chance of an imminent administration.
To compound matters "moving funds from China has become difficult". "heavily investing the past two seasons" "face severe FFP challenges next season" Quotes from a Guardian piece, which does refer to the winding up petition.
"To compound matters "moving funds from China has become difficult". Has the laundry closed then? He should see our Sally, she'd sort his 'washing' out. Off to Jerry's Cafe, he's got a special offer on tea. You get two.
The Good Doctor Tony's Twitter account that once reveled in Villains love for him has been remarkably quiet of late, I know that one of our players has been left hung out to dry after both parties were seeking a deal. The fact it's being withdrawn would suggest the finances are worse than has been broadcast
You said this season in your earlier post, not the last two seasons. Bruce hasn’t even had a full two seasons at Villa yet. You are pinning the spend of his predecessor on Bruce. That’s poor form.
Even if Bruce signed all those players its still not solely his fault, if he's given a budget he will use it. What is his fault is failing to take a sickeningly expensively assembled squad that was bursting its seams with quality and talent and turn them into a team which could acheive a minimum aim: promotion. Lots of comments about Villa this season are very familiar, jekyll and hyde, dour, lacking in ideas, rarely fluid in posession, toothless in attack, lacking inventivity and incisiveness in the final third. The Fulham manager was absolutely bang on point when he said Villa do not have an identity. To be honest finishing below 1st with that squad was a failure in itself, yes I do think they had a much better squad than Wolves did. Brucey will be at Forest in January time once Karanka has had the boot.
Also not poor form from myself, I was merely stating Villa and the good Doctor will make him a scapegoat never did I suggest I agreed with it?
No idea, I have had no dealings with Grosicki, therefore no loose lips to let slip his whereabouts next season I'm afraid
No. McCormack was bought buy Di Matteo I think. But Steve Bruce is guilty as charged of instantly deciding his didn't like McCormack and putting him straight on the infamous Steve Bruce naughty step.
Richard Conway @richard_conway What a mess at Villa. Payroll tax overdue + next month’s looming. Huge wage bill. Unless there’s further cash injection from Chinese owner (seems unlikely) or buyer found then administration may be inevitable. Told it could take £75m just to get through season. Crisis time.
People are relying on you for information to bet on in order to make ends meet and put food on the table for our kids. Pull your ****ing finger out and find out.
Correct the total spend less the previous incumbents splurge leaves 28m. Not as bad as 35 million but come the next season being restricted to 2.5 million? Today's news is a ****storm long brewing.
They made a net profit of £7m on player trading last season, so Bruce's actual net spend is only actually £21m. It's wages that have caused the problems, they still have a Premier League wage bill of over £100m.
