https://deadspin.com/doctors-say-liverpool-keeper-suffered-concussion-during-1826546837 Have to feel for Karius; football needs to do a far better job about checking players after head injuries, and it's really hard to blame him for making errors with a traumatic brain injury. Also, the elbow that caused it was peak Sergio Ramos.
Call me cynical, but it seems like a retrospective attempt to dig himself out of a hole. I`m sure the club could have found him a doctor in the UK to come up with a diagnosis. Stop digging Loris!
I frankly don't really see why the use of subject matter experts at one of the top hospitals in the world is fishy.
Strange that people don’t mention that he’s won the same amount of honours at Spurs as Klopp has at Liverpool.
I was saying to my mate who supports Liverpool that in the end they have actually had a pretty poor season. Finishing 4th and winning nothing would've been the minimum fans would've wanted at the start of the season (maybe worse than a lot of fans would've wanted).
I agree that the video shows that Sergio Ramos elbowed him in the head, and probably should have had retrospective action, given that the ref saw nothing at the time. It’s clear that football needs concussion spotters watching on TV screens in the same way as both rugby codes and American football do, as there is no way that a player with brain trauma still detectable more than a week later should have remained on the pitch. Maybe Karius should have made more of it at the time, but I can understand why anyone wouldn’t want to be substituted in a Champions League final.
i know everyone hates ramos as he is a little diving and filthy player (see his last minute take down of the player in the madrid v madrid cl final) but everythings been blown up. That challenge with Salah was any run of the mill innocuous challenge but theres been a massive story made out of it cause salah got injured. Then that elbow (which barely looks like one but i can see karius got caught) can hardly be seen from the videos that have come out but is caused cause vvd pushes him into that direction.
So an elbow to the head turned Karius into a Sunday league player who had spilled cooking fat on his gloves. In that case, I'm going to find footage of our ill fated match with Blackpool, to see if Bialkowski took an early blow to his head that meant he couldn't use his hands for the remainder of the game! These new facts could paper over some massive cracks in the sporting past! Well done Doc USA.
