I don’t think spurs are clearly better than us - I think we would have finished ahead of them had we not had the CL run this year.

Maybe. They did their best to throw it away there but so did we.

So in the end if the league is the true measure they have been consistently higher than us over time therefore....better.

Until we remove ego and denial of these facts and thus fooling ourselves into accepting them as a club we won't improve.

Things like Henderson is a good captain and under rated etc etc. Or we can get by with a dodgy keeper.

Lfc is a dictionary definition of self delusion at times.

Over the past few years, spurs have been much better than us but I think we have at least certainly closed the gap after this year.

Completely agree with the last two paragraphs. Until we become ruthless with certain players and stop holding them to low standards, we will always struggle to win trophies.

We have finally upgraded our midfield - all that’s left is RCB and GK, and our starting XI can match anyone. Squad depth still needs work.

where did I say I wasn't supporting the team every kick.

I just think to get to the top you have to see the issues and be honest about them.

once 9th August comes and goes the team is the team and they get support.

The concussion excuse smacks of desperation and your conspiracy theory might have a ring of truth.

It was left for Karius to say that he was not in position to continue and he refused to take that option, so, guilty as charged.

Probably Didn’t realise he even had it. I remember Sakho being hauled off in league cup final and he was so angry because he wanted to stay on.

I just think that the first mistake is so bizarre and happened two mins after being elbowed in the head. Very coincidental.

The second mistake looks like a proper mistake because we’ve seen him do something similar before. But the first is just so daft.

He’s a keeper who’s shown plenty of times that he’s got a bad mistake in him, and despite some good form once he regained the No.1 spot at Liverpool, unfortunately for you lot, he reminded you in the final of exactly why he’s been deemed as not good enough before.

His first mistake was a genuine shocker, but in fairness I don’t think Benzema got enough credit for his disguise and quick thinking tbh.

I didn't say that you don't support the team.
I said we have a different idea of what being a fan is. For me it's less objective, apart from some post-match analysis. I don't think that being supportive of our players, even the less talented ones, is delusional.
I didn't say you were wrong and I was right - I said we're different. And I stand by it.

It's the overseas money thats causing the problem not the domestic tv money, the big clubs that generate the most revenue from those games are right to expect a bigger cut than the unfashionable clubs with less appeal to the overseas audiences.
In the last vote Everton, West Ham and Leicester backed the bigger clubs and fair play, because they know even though they'll get less they're still guaranteed a large cash windfall that they in real terms never raked in on merit, if the smaller clubs keep blocking progress it will ultimately cause a breakaway of some sort, the argument on both sides is that greed is the key problem, but you have to consider who's getting the better deal and did they earn the right to benefit from it.

As if newly promoted sides or perennial strugglers will vote against it.<laugh>

The overseas TV revenue is a growing proportion of the overall TV revenue plus it's rising much quicker than the home TV revenue which effectively stalled in last negotiations.
The beauty of PL has been the much more equal distribution of TV revenue than in most countries allowing even "small" clubs to build decent squads and i hope it stays that way as it is that competitive nature which has led to it's success.

The teams that voted with the established ‘top 6’ did so as they fancy themselves to nudge them out and would expect the payments to be more League placing heavy, so it was also self interest.

It’s fine as it is, the revenue generated is due to the product not individual teams and the products strength and mass appeal is due to the highly competitive nature of the league. Create yet another financial chasm and that will see it ebb away, and with it will go its appeal. Be careful what you wish for.

Personally I’d not be arsed if the likes of United et al decided to **** off and form some alternative Euro league or whatever, and they can take the Japanese tourists and plastics with them.

100% true in this case though.

I expected more of you tbh mate, I thought if it was wrong, you’d come straight back with a factual destruction of it, showing your workings out. When you didn’t I assumed you were also winging it, so I carried on <laugh>
