Does it make any difference what Nationality the person is who is flying their Country's flag or is it just if they're English that it's chavy?
Thinking about it, you can probably thank the far right in this country for that. Not your fault they’ve hijacked the flag but they have. I reiterate though, no one has made the youth of today feel ashamed in any way to be English.

The groups message is that British citizens must do certain things that may be considered uncomfortable in order to make its Muslim citizens feel more at home. Why exactly this type of whiny, ultimatum inducing behavior would make citizens of a non-Islamic nation care how its Muslim residents feel is unclear please log in to view this image
Don’t mean to sound paranoid but this is the sort of story which a few days later turns out to be the brainwave of a bloke named Terry.
Panorama about Tessa Jowell on at the moment. Half listening, heard the cheers that she got in the Lords when she said something along the lines of ‘a life should be judged not just on how it is lived but on how it draws to an end’. Really? Not in my opinion. Many people have no dignity in death, but it doesn’t devalue their lives one iota.

The English question: How well do you know England? http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-44290942 9/10 for me.
10/10 Let’s not jump to conclusions about what this means. Glad that this latest survey includes a list of ‘traditional British values’, though I’d like to know whether the list was provided to respondents to pick from or whether it was generated from unprompted responses.
Could be a coincidence but it fits quite well. This supposed feeling of shame has coincided quite well with the likes of Griffin associating themselves with the flag.
8/10 for me too Another story from the Beeb about the English..... What lies beneath England's allegiances and rivalries? - BBC News https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-44321409
Of course that's true. Flags and symbols throughout history have been absolutely fine until reprehensible groups pick them up and 'adopt' them, at which point nobody wants to be seen displaying them. Even the swastika was - and in some areas still is - a religious icon and sacred symbol in Hinduism, Buddhism and Jainism. In Europe, it was traditionally a symbol of good luck. However, when it was adopted by Hitler's Nazi party and subverted into a symbol of hate and race identity, it's become abhorrent. The danger is that the English flag is being used in a similar way. For centuries a symbol of freedom, values and national identity, it's been used by the BNP, EDL, and all manner of racist groups, and a fear started about displaying it overtly due to people not wanting to be mistakenly associated with those racist groups. These racists then started pushing the narrative that people were 'ashamed to be English' and that lie has seeped into people's minds. If you're English, and proud of what the flag actually stands for, then fly it. But be prepared to denounce racism as well, so that the real symbolism behind being English and displaying the English flag can be reclaimed from those right-wing fascists who would look to turn it into yet another symbol of hate.
5/10 but i got bored half way through. My english history knowledge is actually really bad. I don't know that many counties or where half the cities are outside the main top 15. I don't know most of the kings and queens or what centuries they originate from.
