Michael Dawson was a good player who has served us well. He is however at the end of his career and was fortunate to be offered a two year deal in the Championship. He may be seen as a good influence on but mainly off the field and probably has an eye on his coaching future. Probably a good man in the dressing room. I don’t think he will still be playing in two years time so I would not be happy if we signed a player like that for that length of time. I will take a lower league player will potential any time. Maybe we can get two for the same money. My main problem and we can see in clearly with Meyler and all the rest of the senior players who have left is there is a can’t care less attitude wether they leave or not.
Perhaps we could have offered Dawson a Player/Coach position has the experience and professionalism to bring on young players.
