  5. I am sorely in need of good news. Never thought the performance or lack of it of my team could affect me this much. I need to get a life

HA! Ha! - seriously Robin and Cymraeg (who is a hero for going to ManU) -

    We COULD have had Szczesny
    Gibbs Vermaelen Cahill Sagna
    Ramsey Song
    Wilshere
    Walcott RVP Gervinho

    subs:
    Arshavin
    Jenkinson
    Koscielny
    Chamakh
    Oxlade-Chamberlain

and any more we can sign.

Its not quite as bad as it seems right now....

  10. Well friend

It really can't get much worse, can it?

I think a few good signings will lift everyone......including us!! ;)

The trouble is everybody but Wenger could see our downhill slide from about 4 years ago.
Everything on the promise of youth development- but we have 3 maybe 4 - when we needed a team full !!

Amazing Wenger has pulled the rabbit out of the hat getting us into the last 4 each year.
Undeserved - but he has done it.
So - the Board think he works ****ing miracles - when in fact we've allowed robbers in the back door, and we've sold the family silver.
Can we continue to disguise what hes been going on for years.
Clearly we now have the weakest squad we have ever had?
The Board wouldn't know - will a reserve team getting humiliated 8-2 wake them up?-

  13. Funny this one you know.

I guess overall we were lucky to finish in the Top 4. The criminal aspect of this is that we were also so very close to winning as well. Thus the policy to buy cheap, not buy at all and make do was costly. More costly than the benefits of the small savings made by not buying or buying cheaply.

You are right. This is the weakest squad we have ever had especially as the replacements for Cesc, Nasri or Clichy have not been made yet. And this is soooooo very late in the day. This is simply very poor decision-making but who is to blame? The manager who won't buy or the board who seemingly will not pay the wages of big players? But this is not a new problem for Arsenal. Henry wasn't replaced. I don't think we can consider Adebayor to be an adequate replacement for Henry. Patrick Viara was not replaced and the break in the continuity of maintaining a squad of quality players happened back then. Who now will come is anyone's guess? I don't think a £5m relatively-unknown Korean striker is the answer to our problems. He may be an answer but we need far more than him. We need a defence and a midfield.

The brilliant disguise was undone yesterday but how the board reacts to this is anyone's guess.

The problems we have are on the pitch and with the management. The latter may take a while to resolve. If we can get some top class players over the next couple of days it will help a lot but I also think our coaching system needs to change as does the spirit within the team.

We can't ----- defend setpieces, chase lost-causes, get in the box, cross from wide positions, shoot on sight, adopt plan B, find a captain from the squad.
Why do we have numerous odd injuries, why do we wait until the sands of time have run out before noticing a crisis looming?
What happens to the millions we get from transfers that remains unspent on players. Why do we keep signing more and more youth players on silly wages?
Why do we have such high season ticket prices, and turnstile prices?

Apart from this trivia - its all going so well.
