Some people thrive by being negative. If they are not moaning, life has no purpose for them. I have a cousin in Leicester who is always posting on his FB page all the bad things that keep happening in his daily life, and his friends reply, "how awful!! Hope you are OK _________." I think he feeds off this!
The Sterling stuff is beyond a joke. Whatever you think of him as a footballer is irrelevant. I was never his biggest fan, but I'm more enthusiastic now that he has Guardiola teaching him. Anyway, the abuse he gets is insane. The problem with the BBC comments pages are that it is mostly wumming Sun-reader types who comment. Last week when Sterling defended his gun tattoo, he wrote a tweet saying how he got it done to remind himself never to pick up a gun (cos his dad was killed by one etc etc). On Sky Sports News they added the word "again" to his tweet, when they quoted it; "...remind myself to never pick up a gun again". Absolutely incredible, but then maybe it was simply a mistake by the Murdoch-owned news company. Mmmm....
That’s totally insane. (See what I did there?) Seriously though, if Germany are that well-off for goal scoring wingers that they can afford to leave a player like Sane out, they will be frighteningly good. Sane is still only 22, he will be a permanent fixture in Germany teams from the next Euros onwards.
Julian Brandt was selected in his place. Who has scored and assisted less goals than Sane. No non-football reasons that I'm aware of.
Looking at it on the flip side , Sane would one of the first players on the England team sheet and yet misses out even being selected in the Germany squad ... does that mean we are frighteningly bad ?
Anyone doing a sweepstake on here? It's the only reason I'll be slightly interested in the WC... If not, I'll do one myself
