Think kids are struggling yaraa. They aren't even eating the hash browns etc. Just cereal and youghurt now.

When I mentioned fish and chips they said the thought made them feel sick and they're half white<yikes>

They don't like the whole roti saalan or even paratha and egg etc

Likeing your fish n chips is nothing to do with being half white...I love it.

Anyway...I used to struggle as a kid...i think kids generally do...but with me it was usually because I had just woken up to eat. Could always eat things like keema parathas and drink mango milkshakes no probs though.

What I meant by the half white comment is that their diet is not typical yardie. I remember early pasta dishes at home, basically curry on pasta<laugh>

I thought they would like it if I ordered them fish and chips. Was surprised by their response

Also my eldest is nearly 22 bro so not exactly babies anymore. Next ones 20.

I have some samosas in the freezer, courtesy of my little sis so maybe indulge tonight

On the home stretch now and into party season. Two fast-breaking parties this week and then an 8day public holiday starting next Monday.
Flight booked back to UK for this weekend to take advantage of long break and watch some World Cup at reasonable hours. Not sure how I will cope with fasting hours there - might be making a few days up (in December!).
Bought 650kg of rice plus various other essentials to divide into care packages for 200 poorer families around the area. We do it every month but one before Eid is particularly important.
@Spurlock and @thefanwithnoname - do you have the tradition of giving money to kids on Eid? Have to stock uo here with a pocketful of new banknotes which are dished out at each of the open houses you go to.

Proper Eid vibes around there, sounds like fun!

How long are your fasting hours? I'm sure you can pull through it here and yeah we used to get money as kids, not presents and it's the same with our kids now. Money and a brand new outfit for the day. I still treat myself to the odd garment, keeps my son happy knowing that his dad is still a boyo.

Me too tbh. The simple traditions were best

Too many trying to make it "Christmassy" imo. There's even cards going around these days. But I won't buy into it
