Mmm personally I don’t think Hughes is an inspired choice but I’m calling that from the outside, if he’s managed to raise morale and reconnect things then fair play. Still think you could’ve done better but time will only tell. Saw a few bits of that Josh Sims, think it was either this or last season, looked pretty decent from what I saw.
The loss of the likes of Vardy and Mahrez from any team would be damaging ... of that there is no doubt ... but I'm more optimistic about the future of my own club than I have ever been ... In Ndidi, Iheanacho, Demarai Gray, Fousseini Diabate, Maguire and Chilwell we have incredible talent under the age of 25 plus established internationals like Adrien Silva, Vicente Iborra, Alexsander Dragovic and the recent signing of Ricardo Pereira for £20 million ... we probably have the biggest transfer budget outside the top 6 ... so there are plenty of clubs more likely to be flirting with relegation than us in all honesty ... personally I wouldn't swap our squad for anybody's outside the Big 6 ... but then I'm a bit biased
Ah right, weren’t aware of contract situations, similar to us and Toby right now, although it’s quite a rarity for us to be in this position as Levy is usually nailing players down to new contracts on an annual basis which takes the pressure off of having to sell. It’s no doubt tough keeping players that want out but I do think it’s doable - although contract status can definitely play a part. Leicester haven’t been pushed over by Mahrez while Modric initially wanted to join Chelsea the season before we sold him to Madrid (the ****er’s probably counting his lucky stars we did block that initial move!). Ultimately if a player doesn’t get the move they initially want, they’d be stupid sulking and going on strike about it because it’d only likely deter clubs from reigniting interest again. In fairness to both Mahrez and Modric, once both players didn’t get their initial moves away, they went back into the side and maintained high levels.
