With two of the biggest teams getting hammered 13-3 by two Manchester clubs, is the EPL a joke league with only two (maye 3) teams capable of winning a League of 20. All that money available and two supposedly large teams getting embarrassed by bigger clubs (one losing 5 goals at home - sound familiar). What's the point in having a squad of players, spending 10s of millions on players, if you can't cope with the big boys! Bookies... pay out on a Manchester top 2 finish (now and for the forseeable future).
Arsenal where a disgrace yesterday didn't see the Man City game but saw Man U run over the top of them on Monday and they are miles ahead.
For the likes of Arsenal, Spurs, Liverpool et al it's all about finishing in the top four. They have no realistic chance of winning the title so that's their aspiration. If they can win a cup along the way then that's an added bonus. When you see games ending 8-2 it's usually the sign of a "mickey mouse" league. When it happens in the EPL it's because it's the best league in the world.
Arsenal can only offer 90/100 grand a week ,they can't compete with big boys!!! its not only in England the big boys are rattling in big scores , Real Madrid 6 psv 6 champions league money is killing domestic leagues . The Scottish league is more competive this season , I thought st mirren played the better football yesterday , and Aberdeen seemed to dominate the second half at Ibrox
We were 2-0 up after 10 minutesof course St Mirren would have to attack more to try & get back in the game.
Maybe the Manchester clubs should just have a 7 game series (like in Baseball) to see who are the Champions. Unless Chelsea spend another couple of hundred million bring their squad up to the required standard then they are wasting their time like the rest of the alos rans in this mickey mouse "competition".
I said before a ball was kicked that Man U would win the league. Scarily english football is as lopsided as up here and has been for years.
There are two big teams from Glasgow who will win the SPL. There are two big teams from Manchester who will win the EPL. It's all relative. Supposed title challengers getting horsed 8-2? Utter joke.
Nobody is saying it isnt. The standard of english football for all its financial clout is a joke though.
True I just wanted to bring a little perspective to the debate. Two horse race between City and United this year as I can't see Chelsea mounting a challenge
The difference is that the 3 teams dominating English football are excellent sides, in fact one of them is second best in Europe. The 2 teams dominating Scottish football are absolutely dire and can't even qualify for the Europa league, never mind regularly reaching the Champions League semis (or better) like the top English teams have done over the last 5 years or so.
To be fair, if we could convince the bank to give us a £590m loan im pretty sure we could get to the semi's of the champions league in a season or two.
Scottish football is ****e English football is ****e but has loads of money I think that sums it up really and saves about 10 pages of ****e
Maybe if co efficients were pumped to **** European Football would look a lot different 4 teams in the champions league compared to 1 How the **** can you gain more points in a situation like that UEFA CUP is a more balanced view on the state of Leagues in Europe
