The Mexico team manager went to see Bielsa in Argentina 3 weeks ago, to pick his brains before the World Cup. He spent time with him and was told about the Leeds Utd negotiations. Bielsa was exited about being given the chance to win promotion to the premier league. A great club with history floundering needs reviving ........ The Mexican said the style Bielsa would take to England would be a breath of fresh air like Manchester City, Liverpool and Spurs have done using variants of Bielsa's coaching manual.

    Morning all.

Thinking back to Radz' challenge to the ELF to chastise Wolves for loaning/buying their way to promotion regardless of FFP and ther League's refusal to penalise their actions.

He basically said at the time, "ok then, if they can do it so can we".

Bringing in a high-profile manager with virtual certainty that he can attract quality loans, finding cash for decent transfers, doing away with the £15k wage ceiling - maybe he's going for it, safe in the knowledge that he can point to his Wolves challenge if threatened with sanctions?

I thought it was sour grapes st the time, maybe it was very shrewd?

The Mexico team manager has just tweeted and somebody has used a bad microsoft translator to show that a deal has been signed and FA have agreed now just waiting for permit?

Even if he comes that’s the easy bit. The tricky bit is replacing this current shower of gutless and talentless ****e with quality. The squad needs 15 new players to even start playing the footie style this guy will want.

We are becoming so predictable as a club. Every summer we get in a new manager, influx of new previously unheard of players and begin the wetting ourselves with excitement process. November we reduce our aspirations to a top six finish. February lament cup exit and season end. At least under Monk we got nearly a full season of hope

    So, straw poll.

    Would you all prefer:

    a) El Loco Bielsa, with City and Spurs links?

    b) Tinkerman Ranieri, with Huth coming to play alongside Pontus?

Yep, liking the sound of him. Experienced, used to the big stage and pressure, commitment from players, pressing game, keeping the ball, bit of flair. Hopefully as others have said, the ability to attract quality loanees from Citeh and Spuds, add some transfers, his focus on set pieces (having got rid of our set piece coach) and at his age putting in place a way to mentor an assistant manager (and club structure) that one day could take over and keep the playing style running through the club.

I quite like the passion element too. Only concern is him doing a Keegan.

With regard to Championship knowledge - there have been other managers who have been successful in their first season and this guy studies and studies teams, systems and players.

You hear a lot about teams whose history demands a paying style - the hammers, Liverpool etc. Well his style and philosophy could well be a return to the Leeds who fought and fought and had the flair to match.
