Poch Confirms Spurs Stay!

It is true that Pixie will give absolutely no credit to Spurs.

He particularly loathes Poch, because it has been Poch who has engineered the final, telling move in the long-awaited North London Power-Shift (that I accurately predicted).

Remember, that Pixie was (and secretly remains) a hardened Wengerite, even to the point of alienating three-quarters of the board that he was employed to moderate, and he will never forgive Poch for so cruelly exposing his hero's failings, at the end.

I am willing to give Pix a lot of leeway for that, especially as the lads can so clearly see right through his deeply embittered bias.

Levy and Poch would have discussed this long before Zidane left, and Poch will have taken it all into consideration before putting pen to paper.

I used to meet a lot of Spanish Government officials through work. Every single one of them hated Real and supported Athletico. I was quite shocked by the strength of feeling amongst a few of them.

Poch has been linked with the Real job for ages.

Also, it was fairly well accepted that Zidane would be leaving at the end of the season just ended.

Despite what you might believe, neither Levy nor Poch are stupid. Levy is likely to have quizzed Poch about any possible interest in the Real job, and Poch is likely to have used Levy's concerns in order to extract from him assurances regarding financial support going forward.

That's my opinion.

Even if none of that actually happened, the fact that Zidane has left, and the fact that Poch is being linked with the Real job (even if it is nothing more than wild media speculation) will encourage Levy to give Poch what he needs to keep him, and the fact that Poch is saying that he's happy to be at Spurs and has signed a new 5 year contract would indicate that Levy is providing the support necessary to keep Poch at Spurs.

If Levy doesn't provide Poch with the support he craves, Poch will leave for a club that will give him the support, because it is obvious that Poch is a very ambitious man. Again, I say it, that Levy is not stupid, and he will know all of this, even if Poch hasn't laid it out for him.

This legend that you love so much for delivering you something that you will never achieve again got sacked very shortly after he achieved his legendary status.

The fact that we've recently opened one of the best Academies in Europe and are about to take delivery of the best football stadium in Europe, and that we have one of the best young coaches in the World, as well as some of the most valuable players in the World, seems to suggest to me that we are very ambitious. Much more so that the likes of United and 'Pool, yeah?
