I suspect there’ll be a lot of sellers when the day comes that the EPL is seen as being fully valued as an investment.

Yeah I won't pretend I know too much about the inner financial details or why it was done but 5 years did seem a bit strange. Though knowing Levy there's probably a plan as to why that was the case.

NSIS made a decent point about the potential for refinancing of a better deal.

IIRC there were also whispers down here according to certain insiders that we actually had a fair chunk of money put aside for the stadium (would seem reasonable considering our low our net spen's been over the years) and therefore the loan, while partially needed to part fund the stadium, was more for insurance purposes than anything so maybe that was why it was such a short repayment time(?). Although that's a pure guess with no genuine substance other than the word of a few people that at the time had a bit of credibility.

Tottenham star Christian Eriksen wanted by 'several' clubs, says agent
    https://www.standard.co.uk/sport/fo...ted-by-several-clubs-says-agent-a3853296.html

Barcelona have a long-standing admiration for Eriksen, while reports in Spain this week said Real Madrid believe the 26-year-old to be an eventual replacement for Luka Modric in midfield.

Asked about Eriksen’s future, his agent Martin Schoots said: "The only thing I can say is that concerning the interest of several clubs in Christian is that we prefer not to comment.

    Ouch <laugh>

So, Poch goes to Real and takes Kane and Eriksen with him leaving the vastly overrated Alli completely exposed...

    It's the Ajax youth system.
We signed him when he was 21 and he'd already played nearly 200 games for club and country.
He's now up to over 450, which isn't a bad total for a lot of players at the end of their careers.

Well, here's a thing. The Spuds are requesting to play their first home game at Wembley next season, so obviously their stadium will not be ready as expected.
If this is the case, I hope that the FA turn it down because the rules are very clear - you cannot play in two different stadiums in one season. Possible scenario is the Spuds will forfeit the fist game if refused and heavily fined by the F.A.

Also the £450 million loan to build the stadium looks like coming in, in excess of £1 billion which is probably the reason why the paupers of the premiership have bid just £15 million for Jack Grealish when others have been turned down for offering £30 million as Villa require £40 Million.

You couldn't make this **** up could you! <laugh>

    You probably just did.

This is what Scudsmore said about the Wembley issue.

But the Premier League’s chief executive, Richard Scudamore, has revealed that would be against its regulations. “They’d have to play in the same stadium for the entire year,” he said. “For the integrity of the competition. You can’t have 19 home games with 10 at Milton Keynes and nine at Wembley – completely, completely unfair. That won’t be allowed in our competition.”

Big difference between 1game and 10+ games.

Grealish? I expect you’ll nick him for some stupid price, you did that with Barkley too - how’s that work out for you, btw?

That’s not what Scudamore’s statement says.

Who’s gonna be spuds biggest offseason signing?

    #5754
  15. We don't need signings.

We dip into our Academy and lift another young lad.

    Simple.

  16. This is probably one of the reasons why Levy wouldn't be adverse to United taking Alderwiereld off our hands for £75m.

He's surplus to requirements, but the money would be a welcome boom to securing our targets, for next season.

So Porky, what’s your take on the stadium doubling in price and the ramifications of your apparent 5year program going down the ****ter?
