Don’t panic yet. Our real new manager hasn’t even been mentioned anywhere
Yet and likely no ones heard of him either. But at least we were linked to someone that was known

Aha, I think we have now got to the issue of of our disagreement Doc.

I don't want a crazy ride, I've had enough of those with this club, to last more than 12 lifetimes.

I want stability and improvement, and I guess my fear, is that we will be having a similar conversation in 6/12 months time, about the next guy who will be our managerial saviour. The guy doesn't tick the boxes for me, as I said previously if everyone is raving about Beilsa being appointed, then I am obviously missing something, because I don't see enough in his managerial record to be creating all this hype, and I guess that is my concern, everyone is hyping this up (if the whole football world are indeed raving about this), and I guess I'm more than happy to be the voice of caution here, call me a doubting Thomas, but I don't believe him to be the messiah, but I can hope that I am wrong

It’s been the same with the last twenty managers. Picking positives from no Hope appointments. Even if this guy arrives he’s never seen a championship game and has no experience of tactics etc. as he has no more than six months ahead of him in the job he won’t have much time to learn

The pessimism that pervades this board is toxic.

    Good luck and goodbye.

Sorry you feel that way Jammy, I'm trying to be realistic, but if you decide that I'm pessimistic fair enough, I guess I just don't understand why so many folk are pissing themselves about the possible appointment of a guy that has done nothing as a manager for 6 years, has never managed in England, never mind the championship level.

If we are going to appoint someone on an historic reputation, then I'd rather have Howard Wilkinson, at least he would have more of an idea about Championship football

The self appointed naysayers of doom, gloom and misery are very much in attendance as usual though.

Not Aski I might add who's opinions are well researched with balance and nuance.

    Probably but not specifically.

You're very much entitled to your opinion so please don't take any offense at my comments as they are a generalization rather than aimed at any one individual.

None taken whatsoever Jammy. I’ve spent years trying to formulate opinions on the club and have read nearly every post here for god knows how long. Maybe it’s my age that makes me more cautious but I tend to wait to see results before getting carried. Doesn’t mean I don’t understand others grasping at positive straws. We’re all different thankfully

Looking forward to it! Are you coming over early because that's when our hopes are at their height? :D

Just moved house there on Monday. Somehow my entire family arranged to be out of the country this week - including Mrs WJ. Knackered doesn't begin to cover it. Had 2 men & a van moving the big stuff for me, but that was a doddle compared to everything else. Didn't even get to my bed for 3 days. Just passed out eating toast now & again & got going again when I woke a couple of hours later. Still have 50 55ltr boxes in the garage to unpack & about 20 indoors. And no-where left to put the stuff ......... <yikes><wah>

Hmm. I was half thinking of a move in a couple of years but that sounds like a lot of hassle. Depending on fixtures and Sky fecking around the fixtures I’ll be over beforeend of September while we’re still dreaming of the play offs. Have you still got the quality parking space

I'll be here in September, but leave on the 29th for a 6 week hol to mark my 60th. Canny wait. Hoping for unseasonable blizzards in the UK during this time so I can get to see the postponed matches when I get home. A man can dream .....

Sure, have the space & all paid for already. Still £125 for me for some reason, but I know they were charging new people £140 last season. Perhaps they like my dented rust bucket lowering the tone on match days. :)

You forgot this in the summary!!

Last 3 season the teams Biesla has managed have averaged 1 point per game - if he joined Leeds and continued that trend, you'd be 14 points worse off and down in 20th place <ok>

Won’t matter. He’ll only be doing a few months with us. We’re Leeds and we don’t do long term

Agreed and my concerns too. This bloke might be an absolute genius at getting the best out of players and a master tactician but someone remind me, wasn’t that why we signed Thomas?

If the players we have are at the peak of their ability under XYZ coach then it matters not who is in charge. I know much of the optimism is around what the new coaches demands might be but that matters not whilst we have Orta making the signings and I know come 3-4 months in people will be calling for a manager who “understands” the league.

The annoying thing is we had Warnock when we had no ambition and no money. Forget what we made through player sales last season and take what Orta spent on new signings, if we’d have had Warnock last season and had give him a transfer pot the size of what Orta spent I truly believe we would have been top 6.

Pullis another, we should have persuaded him to join when he was available, the reason why we never, because Orta has no intention of getting off the Leeds Rads gravy train, we want a coach not a manager and I feel Orta used to play Championship manager more than Cellino did.
