In an interview today with The Guardian, Poch told the waiting World what us Spurs fans already knew...

...that he's staying at Spurs.

From the article:-

He also paid tribute to Levy as the club prepares to move to their new stadium.

He said: “I’m so happy and proud the faith Spurs and Levy have shown to me. That’s the most important thing for me. Today. What happened over the last day has increased expectations of the book release. But I’m happy.”

“I am happy at Tottenham because they let me work and we are growing together. Right now I want to focus on planning for next season and keep out of all the things that are being said. There will be lots of rumours, lots of things said, but I have no news from Real Madrid."

Well done, Poch!

You are now one of our own, like Harry. Kiss the badge, son. You have earned it.

Now, the wumming can stop.

Have you seen the interview he gave a Spanish paper were he stated that when Real Madrid call you can’t ignore them, and wouldn’t rule out a move.

I am not wumming, I think Poch will stay, but he does have previous form for leaving after signing a contract

Bizarre we're already in a position where many rival fans are happy Poch might stay as it guarantees spurs staying as bottling also rans.

Arsenal fans put up with rival fans wanting Wenger to stay for years and it's already starting now for the spuds.

We've heard it all before...:emoticon-0114-dull:

Mauricio Pochettino says he is staying put as Southampton manager

"The new situation is different. We are in the middle of our new project. Nicola knows of my decision to stay; I have spoken to him. I am fully committed to the staff, the players, the club and it would make no sense to leave in the middle of our path."
Ouch! ... footy convo with a bite ... Quentin will be fuming <laugh>

Oh so so much potential...

<laugh> HIAG has set this thread up nicely for a monumental meltdown if Poch does go.

I noticed that BBC have got footage of the interview with Poch today where he says 'I am very happy with my current team, I enjoy the day to day, I am happy, but you never know what can happen. I signed a contract 10 days ago, what will happen tomorrow, I don't know'

I'm torn between Poch staying and going to Madrid.

on the one hand if he stays at spurs, they continue to flatter to deceive. They win **** all and present no real threat. If he does leave they might actually get a manager in who's a winner.

On the other hand, the meltdown from the spuds if he does go would be funny as ****.

Thanks for this rattled thread HIAG, let's hope it doesn't blow up in your face like your others <laugh>

Two things, The quote was AFTER had Cortese left, and Cortese was not "forced out", in fact he was asked to stay on, but decided to quit.

If he mentions Nicola, then surely Cortese must have still been there.

And I think Cortese and others would dispute your second point.

Question for Spurs fans:

If Poch has 100% ruled out a move to Madrid, then why hasn't he just come out and said he's ruled it out ? Instead he's made all sorts of 'open' statements about having to listen, not sure what tomorrow will bring, you never know, football takes you where it takes you, what has to be will be etc

In contrast Joachim Lowe has simply said 'I rule this out totally'
