We're also interested in Dean Henderson.. Not sure if that is lazy journalism based on the fact that he was on loan at Shrewsbury last season, but I've heard he is out of contract this summer (supposedly) but even if he isn't he'll be going out on loan somewhere so could be somewhere in East Anglia
Link to Paddy McNair now, for some reason. Story says we are interested as well as Derby and Stoke. Which instantly rules us out. Would never outbid them two.
He's a poor player anyway. He's another O'Shea type ex-Man U player. The money it would cost in transfer and wages. If we buy and pay him, it sh*ts all over when they keep telling us about the finances. I think the story is bull.
And the latest JM rumour is - https://www.not606.com/threads/transfers-rumours-goss-summer-2018.361115/page-16#post-11801352-
Low likelihood of being involved, but Ebuehi (my complete guess at our "confirmed signing") is on the bench for Nigeria tonight.
So Rafa won't be signing any players looking for a 'pension fund' (like Naismith!!!) https://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/spo...benitez-interesting-recruitment-plan-14736167
It's amazing how many different reports there are doing the rounds, as I've also seen Leicester and Loserpool mentioned in the last couple of days. IMO, he'll move to either Everton/Leicester initially before a move to a top four club.
So, according to this very intelligent and knowledgable reporter, we have put a ceiling on how much we will accept. Anyone offering £30m will have to lower their offer to between £20-25m for it to be accepted?
Apparently Rotherham want to sign Raggett and Godfrey on loan. I suspect one of those will be far more straightforward than the other!
Raggett possibly and PL teams have been casting their eye on Godfrey .......... Edit - ManUre are certainly looking to strengthen if any of the following is true - United are also moving closer to getting Diogo Dalot on-board. Shakhtar Donetsk ace Fred has emerged as one of the Manchester United boss’ key targets, with strengthening in midfield a top priority. Sandro and Dalot have likewise been lined up for moves to United as Mourinho looks to overhaul his defensive options.
Probably loan them both out. I can see Godfrey being this seasons "Madders to Aberdeen" when we needed him here.
We shall see! The club aren't likely to sanction loan moves until we've done the bulk of our business and Farke's seen everyone in pre-season. Godfrey already has Thompson and Tettey as competition for what's likely to be a single DM role. If he's looking like third choice, maybe a loan til Christmas makes sense? Hard to tell yet. Reed might yet return to add to that conundrum.
I see that of the top 10 passers in the championship, four (4) were Canaries. Zimmermann,10th - Trybull, 7th- Reed, 6th - Tetty, 3rd. The more you look at our midfields achievments, the more you have to look at our offensive failures
Tetty and Thompson seem pretty injury prone. I'd put Godfrey ahead of them. Agree with what you say. This shorter transfer window, is that across all Divisions?
The names being linked to Wolves at the moment! Champions League quality players! Here's another. This lad is fantastic. https://www.sportsmole.co.uk/footba...news/wolves-in-joao-cancelo-talks_327594.html
Says it all really, all defensively minded players. Although in isolation these stats mean nothing, but combined with our possession stats it starts to give you an idea of a problem. Lots of passes across / around the defensive third of the field = plenty of possession, but no penetration. Also supports the view that it's not just the strikers that have let us down this season. Need to work on the link between defense / defensive midfield players & attacking focused midfield player as well as link between attack minded midfielders & strikers. I think possession without penetration has been one of our main failures this season.
