Must admit I like Grealish. Very decent player on his day.

Though I saw the other day that Leicester were interested and the asking price was supposedly £40m... Yeaahhhh no.

Good but definitely not £40m good.

I will personally go and slap our DoF if we actually buy that over rated waste of space who has gone further backwards than Lee Hendrey did for villa.

Not the first reason why anyone would think of slapping Danny Rose...

In today's other random rumour, Alex McCarthy. I do recall he was suggested as Lloris' backup when he was still at Reading, which would put this sometime in 2013-14, but the difference is back then he was a Championship goalkeeper with some potential - now he's established himself as Southampton's first-choice keeper, so I can't see any logic behind this one, even if we take into account the fact that with Vorm out of contract at the end of next month we will have a vacant GK spot in our squad next season and I don't think Alfie Whiteman or Brandon Austin will be taking that spot as both should be considered for loan moves to give them some seasoning.

Everyone thinks that Vorm's out of contract, but Sky did an article a while ago about all of the Premier League players with expiring deals.
    http://www.skysports.com/football/n...-players-who-could-leave-for-free-this-summer
"Tottenham have confirmed they have no senior players out of contract this summer."

Seems odd that everyone thinks that he's available and that the club appear to contradict that.

Have we had him on a youth team contract this entire time?

I don't understand what 'punching above our weight' means? I never get that phrase

We are where we should be...we are there consistently so it's no fluke. Surely the definition of 'punching above ones weight' is what Lesta were doing? Hence them going back to normal the following season.

We are exactly where we should be because this squad has shown that for a few seasons now. However now we are stuck...we need first team signings to move us on

    Pretty easy tbh.

We're the 6th biggest club in the country yet have been finishing above two of the sides bigger than us for the past few seasons. We don't have the same resources yet are matching/ bettering some of our bigger rivals. We've had to build a squad with primarily cheaper signings - not forgetting striking gold with a world class academy product - and hope they turn out to become top players, we haven't got the luxury to buy big money players on a regular basis and when we do splash big we pray they work out because unlike Chelsea/ Utd/ City we can't just easily rectify those poor signings by replacing them with even more expensive buys.

We've definitely punched above our weight.

Yeah but our squad probably has a monetary value higher than 6th based on their talent. The numbers might suggest we are punching above our weight but the talent on the pitch suggests we are where we should be. If anything the money side keeps on telling me we have money available. Levy has done wonders, I appreciate that but he needs to grow some longer arms and dip them into his pocket for the first team to get some help and have no excuses for not moving on. Levy is hindering Poch's talent and he's also going to cost you your avatar.

Yeah we've got one of the most valuable squads in Europe now according to a number of sites but for me that further strengthens at how we've punched above our weight. To get to that value we've spent pennies in comparison with other squads, we wouldn't be able to afford the current market values of the likes of Kane, Alli and Eriksen right now. The talent right now suggests why we're punching above our weight, we've produced/ developed many of our first team whereas our rivals have for the most part just assembled theirs through big money.

As for Levy I think he will spend big, I don't think Poch would've signed a contract otherwise. Poch implied a number of times last season that we needed investment so I think we can expect it.

I ain't sweating, bro, I've got this in the bag. What's the duration by the way? Don't think we decided on that.

It will be very difficult to replicate a situation where you develop a Kane, buy and develop an Alli cheaply and do great business in the transfer market with players like Eriksen, Alderweireld, Wanyama, Dembele etc.
Many of these players came good at the same time soon after the club had spent relatively big on a number of flops.
Good judgement plays a part with transfers, but so does luck. It's baffling why other clubs didn't come in with bigger bids for a number of these players.
With clubs awash with money and the transfer market ever more competitive, it will be harder for Spurs to do as well when the time comes to replace some of these players.
It isn't a pressing issue though as long as you can keep hold of your players.

The thing is that it's not on the pitch you need to look at, it's to the side of the pitch.

Chelsea are able to have a bench containing Giroud, Batshuayi and Zouma while they also seem to forget they have Barkley and Drinkwater under contract, Man Utd can have Martial and Rashford kicking their heels on the sidelines, and more than anything else those two clubs as well as Arsenal, Saltypool and The Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed bin Sultan bin Zayed bin Khalifa Al Nahyan Team are all able to not just buy their way to success but, should the situation require it, also buy their way out of trouble.

We, on the other hand, lack any squad depth and can't compete with the wages, let alone the transfer fees, those teams throw around without having to think about it - so from that standpoint we are punching above our weight, not because we managed it once, but because we've managed it three seasons in a row.

Let's see if he does...Seri has a 35 mill release clause...we should be all over that.

As the reports are suggesting we're getting £25m for Dembele, we can easily absorb that fee - and that's before potential transfer fees for fringe players

Completely agree. Been harping on about Seri since last summer. Although the links with Milinkovic-Savic a couple weeks ago did get me excited not gonna lie, that guy looks immense.

    Yeah cool, you're on <ok>

    Rocket ain’t she?

I drew South Korea in the WC sweepstake on the Prem board so thought I’d show my support to my temporarily adopted nation. Few others have done the same.
