He left a longer comment on his instagram 'thank you for everything, I will see you one way or another next season', bit more of a cryptic message there.

Yeah, If you can get his Porto confidence back. Would be no small feat but a huge asset if you can get a goal-every-other-game striker on a run.

More than 5 games a season. Allegedly.

Because Leicester don't play to his strengths at all, fast counter attacking football is not him. He is basically a better Pelle, if we continue trying to feed off a target man then he could be brilliant for us I think. He only played 4 games for Newcastle so I'm not going to judge him on that

It won't happen anyway, his wages and the fee will be too much I'd imagine

Wouldn't blame Targett if he wanted the move. He will be more valued there and will feel a real part of Fulham's PL adventure as he played a part in getting them there. He will have no guarantees here if he returned as he is an unknown quantity to Hughes.

Surely Slimani's (£29m) fee would have absolutely plummeted - (form and he'll be 30 at the start of next season). Would Leicester get half of what they paid? They would certainly feel sore selling him to another PL club for such a fee. But with the loan failing, they might have to loan again to boost the fee, or take the hit given his age. He's 3 seasons left on 5 year contract.

I doubt I'd do it for half of half of that fee, including his wages. As others have said, you need to build your team around Slimani's strengths if you want to have any chance of getting something from him. Problem being: he's not good enough to build around, and a turgid style of waiting patiently for him to settle into the box so that we can lob crosses at his head sounds like a step backward.

That would be a great start to the summer if he stays (& stops sulking)

Did Bertrand really sulk...are we sure this isn't just one of those things that get repeated. It was a crappy season for everyone...perhaps he's just got one of those faces.

Echo discussing our problem with McCarthy. Not sure I agree with the idea that we have to put him on par with Forster...logically yes, if he is to be our number one...but more likely we have to offer him a contract that makes moving elsewhere less desirable. So depends more on what he could earn elsewhere rather than what Forster is on. After all, there are other players at Saints not on Forster's contract.

Be useful to get to the bottom of FF's problem...after all, he could easily end up being needed as injuries happen. Is it physical and/or mental? Is it that he needs to be behind a better defence as he has been in the past?

That's not the kind of signing I expected Wolves to be making. I thought their owner was ready to splash some serious cash.

It's alright though because the people in the upper echelons will learn from the mistakes they've been making for the past three years.

He was a shocking signing for Bournemouth - think they signed him for 10M, he's never worth that let alone 12.5M after doing f all. Eddie's not got the greatest record on big money buys, like us really. But pretty good going to recoup their costs.

If you consider this against the problems we would have had if we had gone down...

    A great problem to have!

I would give Mccarthy a contract he’s happy with because it’s going to be cheaper than signing a new keeper.

We can just loan out Forster with an option to buy to regroup as much of his wages as we can.

We can also invest in a new young keeper for the future. It’s definiely going to be an interesting summer.
