Which is a great reason for us not wanting him to go there. I’d rather he went and rebuilt either Barça or Real, then we can watch with admiration.
I´d rather Pardew at Manchester United to be honest!!!! However, I suspect my wish will be just that!
That will be a hard act to follow for anyone. Perez will no doubt be aiming to win the CL again ahead of La Liga so if it is Poch then we will all be switching our allegiances from Tottenham (our second favourite team in the PL) to Real, eh?
I'd love to see how he'd do at RM, but in truth, he won't be moving this summer. That new contract will make it difficult for anyone to even speak to Levy about it. I don't think Spurs deserve him though, they had a chance for greatness, but just settled for profit with progression.
That I completely agree with. The upper leagues are just full of the same endless recycling of British managers: Pardew, Pullis, Allardyce, etc. It is only through getting promoted that any young up and coming English manager is likely to get into the PL, like Eddie Howe. That's why I find famous ex-players getting a job straight away high up a bit more annoying... Although fair play to Derby for not just going for one of the usual suspects I believe.
If Real Madrid come ahunting for Poch, they will get him, regardless of having signed a new 5 year contract. Levy suspected this could happen as coaches have a máximum of 2-3 years now, even when successful, so Spurs will get huge compensation for this. PS: I would not be sorry to see Spurs poach Mark Hughes either.
He'd be in a power position if he didn't sign. Were Real going to come knocking, they'd have let him know......that's how they roll.
https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/44314801 Andy West is a very well known journalist who reports on Spanish football. He says the news "obviously shocked Madrid".
Perez possibly wanted to sign Neymar, an idea opposed by the RM dressing room who have the support of ZZ and he from them. After all there have only been the addition of promising players to the RM squad during his tenure as coach, during which time they have not done too badly.
Real Madrid value the CL above all else, so that won´t worry either the supporters or the hierarchy as long as the CL is back in their trophy cabinet at the end of the season.
