You said if Poch stays you’ll carry on as before. If he goes presumably you’d expect you to get worse.

I could be misreading this, as it's possible that Zidane resigned without warning, but I'd have thought that Real have someone lined up already.
If that's the case, then it seems unlikely that they've talked to Pochettino, as I doubt he'd want to sign a deal and then immediately leave.
If there was contact then I'd have expected him to drag it out a bit and then ask to go.

Maybe Real weren't expecting Zidane to walk, though?
On the other hand, maybe they've already got Wenger on board and that's why he left Arsenal? <whistle>

Perez said that he had no idea that Zidane was going to resign, so it seems likely that Real will start their search now and Pochettino (amongst others) is bound to be contacted by Real. Whether or not he'll accept the job remains to be seen. Wenger was courted for years by Real and was loyal to Arsenal, so maybe it's his turn now ?

Perez says a lot of things. Some of them are probably true, too.

Pochettino just seems like an odd target, to me. He's not a Real man and he's not won anything.
Guti's running their youth team and is currently quite high in the betting, but I think they'll aim for a proven coach now.
They desperately want to win the league, so perhaps Allegri might be the man to do it?
    Wenger would be interesting.

I said earlier in the thread, that it might be a blessing in disguise that Pooch has won **** all and can't get Spurs over the line. Because that will make Real wary of appointing him. Had you won something this season, then I think it might be more likely, but as you say I think they'll target somebody like Allegri, Lowe, Jardim or possibly Wenger, who I think would take the opportunity this time.

Or maybe Poch felt some loyalty to Spurs and thought the least he could do was give them a nice pay day before he goes.

Wenger would definitely take it now. Nothing to lose.

Yep, and knowing that Real only keep their managers for around 3 seasons, it would tie in perfectly for him to retire on a high. Indie have Wenger and Pochettino as the favourites for the job.

Who would have thought 6 months ago we'd be wondering whether Wenger or Poch would be taking the Real job ?! madness !

Before he signed his contract, he was making noises about 'other people' carrying on his work and that he needed to see Levy match his vision (presumably with wages and transfer kitty). It's entirely plausible that Pooch negotiated a a clause in his contract that gave him a get out to a bigger club, should the opportunity arise.

Yeah 2 weeks ago he was unwilling to say he'd 100% be there next season. He then signs a contract. Zidane then resigns hmmm

hmmm indeed. Could all be a ploy to get Levy a nice big bumper cheque (on top of him doubling his wages) whilst allowing Poch to manage the club he's destined for.

All we need now is for @Hoddle Is A God to tell us categorically that Pooch is staying at Spurs and we know he'll be off <ok>

If Pooch did leave Spurs, who would you like to see him replaced with ?
