As long as I think so, that's all that matters. I don't particularly need a jumped up ass to tell me how he thinks I should spell things.

I love the fact that they have a spelling mistake on their first page.

The Liverpool fans are really getting carried away and crowing about how great you after three easy games is premature to say the least. The media has written off Chelsea's title challenge before it has started which suits us. We have a team of old players Lukaku (19), Romeu (19), Luiz (24), Ramires (24), Torres (27), Sturridge (21), McEachran(18), Mata (23), Ivanovic(27) who will all get regular first team games this season and a reserve team full of very promising young players (they won the EPL reserve league last season). We should make a another couple of signings by Wednesday that will augment a squad that has a good mix of experience and youth. Come back in three months and we'll have a much better yardstick of who's doing well or not.

I actually think spurs are lucky to play city and utd first two games whilst they have injuries. They wouldnt of got any points from those games anyway, so why not get them out the way.

Arsenal look like a poor Blackpool. They just don't have the quality to play like that.

Being optimistic and saying it looks like we might have a better chance of getting third place than we initially thought is "crowing" is it?

So if money is the only factor why have spurs been ****e for so long despite being near the top of the spenders since the prem began. Yes you have has a tough start and yes you have been unlucky with injuries but the performances in both games have been down shameful.

Who's embarrassed? Any decent football fan that has just watched his team concede 8 goals in two games and only score 1.

I think you mean Forth as in the river. It is, after all, a proper noun. If you are going to be a dick, at least be a dick who is right.

We've been nowhere near the top spenders.
Our wage bill is dwarfed by those that are and this myth is constantly peddled by the media and fans of teams like Liverpool.

Both performances have actually been half decent, but with awful finishing and some dire defending.
Our defence has been left unprotected, due to the lack of a holding midfielder and our strikers are incapable of playing a lone role.

This thread is pretty funny. The original point was that we've made a good start and it's a chance for us to keep it going and pull further away from Arsenal & Spurs who have had poor starts to the season. Yet, according to angry Londoners this means that we think we are the best team in the world and will win every game left this season?

We know that United, Chelsea, City will be the likely top 3 and the battle for 4th are likely to be us, Arsenal & Spurs and being 6 points clear is already a good advantage, espcially as one of our wins was against a rival. Chelsea haven't looked brilliant yet and have probably had the easiest start to the season out of the 6 teams mentioned. I think the point was right in building a gap so we can concentrate on looking up rather than behind.

I'd disagree. It's a multiboard thread with the very clubs they're dismissing. Feeling the need to post things like "we have been given/have earnt a real chance of stamping down our authority on this league", "I do believe we can keep them(City and Utd) in check and fight Chelsea for third" and "we are as good as, if not better than Chelsea". Liverpool fans are the only ones who seem to feel the need to tell everyone their opinion on how great they are, despite the fact no one cares and if we did, we'd ask for your opinion or just read your board <ok>

Don't be so deliberately obtuse. If you genuinly believe the dribble you've just written I'd suggest going back through the thread :)

I see your point that putting it on a multiboard thread might look provocative but I didn't think the tone of the op was too aggressive. Personally I'm not in favour of these types of threads because they tend to degenerate into a slanging match. We're never all going to agree obviously, but it would be good if we could keep arguments reasonable.
Imo multiboard threads are ok for matchdays and if there were bigger issues to discuss that affect us all as footie fans.

Rival fans are always coming up with the line "Liverpool fans think next year is their year" ie, we think we are the best team in the league, however I don't think I've heard anyone seriously say that for a good 3 years. The only time would have been the year after we finished 2nd in the league which I think is a reasonable suggestion.

Most sensible fans know that top 4 is our aim this year and anything above that is a bonus. Look at United last year, won the league through everyone else being poor. Who's to say we don't get "lucky" and finish 2nd or 3rd due to being consistant and other teams being bad?

100% agreed with the multiboard threads being left to matchday ones and the odd exception. We went through about 3 prematch threads with the Utd fans which always ended up in arguments, often not even football related.

3 games in I'd give the following assessment:

Man Utd - much more promising than expected - attacking options are great, some concerns at GK (needs time to settle and work on his technique) and the defence gets exposed too easily - the ATT/DEF balance needs a little tweaking for harder tests to come.
Man City - looking very good - they have discovered some attractive attacking play without sacrificing their defensive solidity - will Mancini go more defensive when the pressure is on?
Chelsea - not been impressive but they've got points on the board - will improve but they will need to against better teams
Liverpool - steady improvement - all their signings (except Carroll) impressed as they dominated Bolton - harder tests to come
Arsenal - oh dear - looking like a very difficult season - Wenger has little practical support within the club (always sitting alone)
Tottenham - not looked good with Kranjcar in the middle - will get better once the Modric situation resolves itself

I see it as a 3-horse race - Utd, Chelsea, and City
Arsenal to drop fast unless they find some spirit from somewhere.
Liverpool probably favorites for 4th now.

I think others do pay higher wages but you just talked about the cost of acquiring the team, either way I have seen lower league teams put up a better fight in midfield and defend better than you lot have so far.

    What myth?
