Zaha trending on twitter. Not because we’re close to doing a deal, but because he’s close to signing a new contract at Palace.
Shaqiri's got a ton of talent, but I struggle to see where he'd fit into the squad and who he'd be replacing. Maybe the idea's to sort out his fitness and application, then use him as competition and backup for Eriksen? We really don't have anyone that can fill his role at the moment.
This is true. However, rather than us trying to buy another Eriksen, who basically does the same job, I’d like us to buy a more creative midfielder that pulls the strings from deeper. Having both options would really benefit us tactically in the event of busparquet, as @The RDBD would say.
Por que no los dos? If Dembele goes, then I think that we should look for more of a Modric or Carrick type.
Has anyone seen any rumours of when the new kits will be out? I wouldn’t be surprised if our kits were announced on the same day as our first signing.
Straight swap for Eriksen according to the hacks. Could make it an issue though for the 150m that Collymore has already slapped on the table in front of Levy.
Usually just before the pre-season tours isn't it? Looking forward to seeing how it fits on Bale and Seri.
Josh King's complaining about how he was used last season. Worth a bid, or is it likely a year from now he'll just swap Spurs' name in for Bournemouth's if we do?
Even with the silly money transfer fees these days, Palace expecting £50m priced him out of a move: top six clubs would've seen him as a backup option or a late window buy if other targets weren't signed which would put his value at around £30m, while clubs just outside that simply don't have £50m to throw around.
I agree..we need someone to step into the first team thus relegating whomsoever it maybe to the bench, this strengthening both. We don't need to be doing this backwards anymore, the next level will be reached by making some top signings. Over to you Levy
This bit I agree with though, about Shaquiri. I just think we need someone who can do that and some, to move on. Need someone in the team with Eriksen not replacing him on the 70th minute as an alternative because we are hitting a brick wall.
Exactly mate, we need players that improve the starting 11 not back up for cup games or when they get injured. We have a lot of good players but imo they’re far too comfortable because they know they’re guaranteed games. Competition is always a good thing and no1 should be exempt from it.
Because Levy takes ages to sign players? ...but at the same time he still wants the new signings to be holding up the new shirt, not the one that’s just gone into the sale at 40% off. Chelsea and City both have a partnership with Nike and brought theirs out weeks ago. We do it every season, so it’s no surprise. Surely it must have something to do with the timing of when we sign our players. Otherwise you’d think we’d release it as soon as possible. If Bale is genuinely being worked on behind the scenes (or any other “big” name signing for that matter), the kit will be announced about 24 hours prior to that announcement, IMO.
