Just spoke to our old friend robbiethemole (Rob Whyman) who is just about to board the bus to Wembley. Coventry City have been run abysmally over the past ten years and been dealt with harshly by the Football League so I’m hoping for a change in their fortunes, starting today. Robbie was first to congratulate us when we got promoted so I hope they win today.

Agreed - I was gutted for them when Slade went there last season. Thankfully they ditched him and have turned the corner under Robins.

    Good luck Sky Blues. <ok>

I agree. Some supporters get what they deserve and others don't.
Hopefully Robbie gets a rewarding day in the sun.

I'm with them too. I went to see them against Notts Country a few years ago and they let me have OAP entry....and the kind lady even demanded to see my passport to prove I was eligible!!!!
Once huge club now reduced to scrapping in the lower leagues. Good luck to them.

Coventry have always been a big club and deserve to be up there. I've always liked them and the past 10 years has been such a shame to see their fall. I hope they build from here.

I remember watching Coventry beat Spurs in the FA Cup final in the eighties. Yes, I'm that old! And if I recall they were the team with the longest stay in the top division.

Yeah you're right Dai. I think Liverpool and Everton may have been there longer as well.

They may have been the longest at that time. The others have had 25 years to overtake coventry's time at the top.

    Coventry's best is 33 seasons from 1967/8 to 2000/1

Arsenal are on 90 seasons from 1919/20 until now there was no league in WW2

Everton have been in the top league the most, 118 seasons but not in 1 go.

    EDIT
Swansea have been in the top league 9 seasons.
    Cardiff 16 seasons and counting.
