We've got to a final and lost it and it ****ing stings bad. But it was still exciting getting to the final, the elation at winning the semi final and knowing your team has made it to the final, and then the occasion itself of course. Would much rather that than the endless going out at the last 16 stage that followed.

When you look at something like “sample size”, a tournament in its entirety is better to determine luck based success, or lack of than a one off game.

Many things can contribute to winning/losing a final, but only a consistently strong performance gets you to that final.

Non emotionally based reality - if you make lots of finals but lose, you’re more unlucky than bad. If you’re group stage fodder into eternity, you’re a flop.

Think it's pretty universally recognised kane and eriksen are some of the top players in the league (minus wummage when they feck up)
