a quiet one this year in Wales, still not quite sure if it's a holiday or punishment for being Genghis Khan, Hitler and John Terry in previous life's.

I’m really glad you liked it, when you first posted about going I nearly responded - I went in 1984 and was as usual extremely cynical that it would be commercialised out of recognition by now (it wasn’t even uncomfortable then but only a couple of hotels in Kuta for Aussie families), and didn’t want to be negative about it. Went to Koh Samui in Thailand in 1990 and returned a year later to find it close to ruined. I’m glad Bali is still beautiful and the people happy.

I’m told it’s full of ex Kiwis, pretending to be Aussies, predominantly from Bondi, in Sydney and the Gold Coast, here in Queensland.:emoticon-0100-smile

My good lady and l recently stayed on the New South Wales mid Coast, at lovely Port Macquarie. ( google and you will see )

Lovely beaches, great surf and the famous Norfolk pine trees lining the streets and coast line, not to mention great eateries.

Stayed in these ......... Sandcastle Apartments, overlooking the surf beach.

No real plans yet. Spent a few days on the south coast for the wife's birthday earlier this month, and hoping to go either to visit my brother in law (South of France, around Carcassonne area, very nice) or to Alicante, where my sister has a place, later in the year. aside from that, just taking odd days here and there for days out (off to Leicester next month for a gig, and going to do a few days being all touristy around London, going to the IWM and the Tate, that kind of thing.

Cycled across Holland to Amsterdam on the last bank holiday and going to Vietnam for two weeks at the end of june/early july.
We normally do one big one and one city break. The last few years we've seen some great places, Goa, Costa Rica, Bali/Lombok, Edinburgh, Berlin.

Never been to Berlin. Flights have started up to Schonefeld near me. Worth going? Expensive?

I go to the Netherlands all the time as I like to watch Vitessse Arnhem. The country is completely flat, it must be great for cycling, there's a cycling route that can get you anywhere in the country, apparently. I wouldn't mind spending a few days getting about on a bike.

Away from that I was in Jamaica last month and hoping to get out there again in October, all depending on work though.

We don't set sail until the 28th mate, so the pint will have to wait until you can get yourself down to Loftus Road. As for the cruising what's not to like? It's like being on a five star floating hotel. It has a theatre that puts on west end style shows every night, fine dining, loads of bars and restaurants, a cinema, a library, a casino, an ice skating rink plus loads of daily activities, and every day you get to visit a different place.

    Navigator of the Seas ...

Nothing there really sells it to me, but then again I don’t have teenagers to entertain. Enjoy!

I have a visit to England planned for September - Devon, Cornwall and London with hopefully a couple of exotic wins at Loftus Road.

Don't come in the summer, you'll only be disappointed. Come in late March/early April, weather is more stable and of course you can catch a few end of season games at Loftus Road.
