In the transfer market? We used to just do the deals. Now it takes weeks or months to sign players when all other clubs are able to move quicker. What IS the real issue here?
If and it's a BIG IF, but if Ashley is as 'hands off' as he claims then it's down to Penfold and more importantly Justin Barnes. Penfold is completely clueless and needs his hand held.................. the problem is that Barnes is holding it.
Total uncertainty. Ashley doesn't appear to want the club, so operating budgets are tight. Rafa's only got a year to go, so is the club going to give him the chequebook? Doubtful. Main issue is a complete lack of senior execs, so Lee spends as much time ordering in the persil, teabags and jaffa cakes as he does on financial reports (hence the MASSIVE delay) and - ultimately - transfers. We're running - at a senior management level - with as many people as Burton Albion and Accrington Stanley. As in, one person. Mike's got no interest in paying for more, Lee's got no interest in hiring superiors.
most deals are done prior to teams going back to training I mean who wants to pay wages to a player whilst he's on holiday the money saved on wages from that one player alone could pay for all the stadium staff, maintenance staff and groundsmen throughout the summer
Quite simply, it’s a myth. We have got our business done like most other clubs over the last 3 years. Some of this nonsense seems to have come from last summer when Cabellero and Abraham stalled because they wanted to wait for better offers. They got them (or thought they did). It’s the same type of myth we don’t match up spending wise on wages, fees and transfer fees. We do. It’s the same type of myth ‘fans’ create that we are not spending our money. Then the accounts arrive and make those people look incredibly stupid. Very little business being done so far unless I’m unaware of some sneaky signings. Perhaps this will help with a dose of reality https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/talk...eted-confirmed-summer-2018-premier-league?amp Our manager hasn’t even decided if he wants to stay yet. It’s down to Rafa as we can’t sign anyone until we know what he’s doing.
I’m pretty sure Rafa has told Penfold by now what is required for Rafa to sign. Would expect it’s up to Ashley now as we won’t sign anyone until he decides how much he wants to keep Rafa.
He signed on the 4th July 2017. The window opened on the 9th June 2017. He signed and was there for pre season. I really can't see a problem to be honest.
Well I’m not holding my breathe on that one. Strange you didn’t mention the two way street in your earlier post.
Not required. Only a semi ******ed imbecile with an agenda would think its a one way street. As with all contracts between two parties, it takes one to offer and one to accept, with room for negotiation. #basics
You want to get yourself on the Chronicle web site mate. You can argue with all the anti-Ashley twats and conspiracy theorists till your heart's content. It's phenomenal on there. I saw a quote by Shearer too saying Ashley hadn't given Rafa every penny last season, so jump on his Twitter account and straighten him out.
Breaking news. What Pouchy said to Ashley to straighten him out and to get the Dubravka deal over the line.
If he doesn't understand by now that the deciding factor between the success or decline of NUFC is Benitez... he's even worse than I thought
