Better than Manquillo. We really need better than Yedlin, though, and I'm not sure he's that. He's fast as **** and attacking but didn't look that great when I've seen him play (which isn't a lot in fairness).

He looked very good last season - if he is on a free and we get £1M for Manquillo then it's win win

As DPP says, he was very good last season

He'll more than likely be staying in London, but, we should try and get him.

If he is on a free I’d go for it. He looked great last season. Ideally suited to how Rafa plays. Smart business. If you could secure him and Hernandez on frees. There are some decent frees about. Badeji at Fiorentina. Balotelli. Luke Shaw only has year to run. Ozyakup at Beskitas. Caneles at Sociedad. https://www.transfermarkt.com/statistik/endendevertraege

If we are looking to make our money go far it could be a good market. Maximise on the key positions.

I don't think he is; he's excelled in a Fulham team that plays quite differently to Rafa's style (see Mitrovic, Aleksandar).

Might make financial sense, but this feels like a move your board would want (i.e. no transfer fee) rather than one Rafa would.

I’d have to disagree as Rafa plays with very attacking full backs pushed on. When I’ve watched the lad he gets forward well and would basically be an upgrade on Yedlin. Mitrovic is a completely different ball game. Due to the way Rafa sets up we can’t have such a static centre forward. At Fulham he has people working off him and running past. He is very good at getting his arse in and bringing others into the game. Rafa wants a striker who stretches teams running in behind to create space, one who will work his socks off closing down.

    Horses for courses.

That's fair - I'm basing my comments on what I saw last year and they weren't the best Newcastle performances. Fredericks is a good player, but is temperamental/immature when things don't go his way. Consequently his relationship with the RW/RM is key - if he builds a strong relationship with his RW/RM (like he did with Aluko last year), he'd be a good signing for any mid to lower Premier League team.

Now that Fulham have been promoted, he"ll probably sign a new contract with them anyway.

Best RB in the Championship by a country mile. Voted by his peers as such, and also in the EFL Team of the Year.

A shame really, as you don't often get players of his calibre coming along for free every day, when a fee is likely £10m+.

    He is crap though apparently.
