I see @James Dutton has returned to his 20 posts a day on the CL takeover thread. I wonder which bloated ex Fans Director in a cardigan put him up to that Let’s hope the info Gerard Murphy is said to have given Dutton is true, although I can’t help thinking it won’t be the last we have heard of Seed Jr and we have gained yet another fan desperate for the limelight & attention. Andrew Muir must treat all of the Attention Seekers and Murray era Klingons with disdain.
I'm not saying he is right, just commenting on it because he included a date in what he has said. At the time BB posted this information (about 10 dayds ago I think) I commented that if a take-over announcement was on 8th June it would be interesting timing, as 9th June will be the Club's 113th Birthday. BB replied that 8th June was just the date when the new ownership team would all be together for the first time in a while. He said the take-over announcement could well be made before 8th June, but the 8th June meeting might be used to announce more details about it. When these exchanges went on, 8th June was about three weeks in the future. Now it is only nine days away. Personally, I must admit am sceptical that there is going to be a takeover at all. The strongest evidence for it is only circumstantial as far as I can tell - the absence of a CEO and several other key senior management positions at the Club, and the appearance of certain individuals at a recent Charlton match. Correct me if I am wrong anybody, but to my knowledge we have no verification that the EFL is checking a new owner for fitness to own the Club. We have no verification that a deal has been done (indeed, RD himself has apparently recently said that a deal is not done). Basically we have no solid evidence of a take-over at all. Bexleyboy has set dates for events before, and sometimes those events have not come to pass. He usually has an explanation for this, but it is for other Charlton fans to decide how much credibility he has - or how much credibility any forum poster claiming to be ITK really has.
Bexleyboy’s credibility is on a par with his intellect - minus 100. This is the same person who seriously claimed that his “neece” worked in the solicitor’s office handling the takeover. Embarrassing.
I don't see what James Dutton did to earn the reception he got on here. Only opinions but he doesn't come across as pompous to me. But while not bullying,Royston and Dick Plumb were rude and agressive. Is it really necessary to be scrapping continually with ither Charlton fans?
My answer is no, but when I raised this earlier Royston and CBI explained why they take a different view.
Yet you post on ITTV where the moderator has threatened me and others and sent me a MSN Message making disgusting remarks about my Family. People on ITTV are routinely bullied by Williamson, May and others for taking up a contrary view. Is all this alright with you Darren? I went a bit heavy on James Dutton calling him pompous etc but nobody on this forum,to my knowledge, has ever threatened anyone. You are being a hypocrite, bullying also happens on CL to anybody like Doucher etc that don't go along with the CL glitterati, is that alright with you? Why do you need to post on here that there was a reason why you don't post on here. Can you see the irony?
Could you clarify what you find wanting about the content on this forum Leftbehind? There is a different perspective here from the prevailing ones on ITTV or CL, but each forum in my opinion is interesting in different ways because of its resident opinion formers, characters and contributors. And even its faults. For me, all of these combine to make all these forums worth being a part of to some degree. I don't agree with all the views expressed on this Charlton forum or the others, but I still like some of the other members enough to enjoy spending some time on these forums.
It’s the hypocrisy of @Leftbehind and his ilk that grates. Twice in the last week on Charlton Life I have been publicly dug out by ex posters on here - Scratching Cat and Mr Sitter. The latter called me an “arsehole” . Both of whom left here in a huff because they claimed not to like the personals? #hypocrisy
I post now and again that's all not a great deal on that other site, I basically only look at a few threads that maybe of interest to me as for the rest I don't bother even looking at, same as CL I look at few threads and post hardly at all, you talk about being a hypocrite, but look at the abuse these **** wits are handing out to people and you are here not condemning it despite the abuse you have had from others on other sites, so are you saying its fine to abuse others as long as its not you. Have to ay didn't expect to get dug out by you of all people!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11
At risk of becoming the target of ire: It appears all the infighting across the boards has as it was always going to do polarized opinion and caused inter board flame wars. The result is one of the best posters here has disappeared and this place is on it's arse as a result. I am not apportioning blame although there seems to be plenty to go round on all forums. Don't you guys think its time to stop the sniping among yourselves and get back the lost posters on all your forums? One forum is going to have to show some common sense and from what I usually read I would have thought it would be this one.
At the risk of repeating myself, Elfs is keeping his reasons private. Anyway, I suggested we followed CL's policy of not discussing other forums and got the horse laugh, so your plea will also fall on deaf ears.
As I don't know his private reasons I can't breach ELFS trust. The point I was clumsily trying to make was the place is poorer without him (and others) and perhaps like you suggested there needs to be a rethink on what is posted. I am trying to fix a problem not cause one.
We all miss Elfs, but I would respectfully point out that Elfs himself was one of the most consistent and ardent critics of another forum. ATM the takeover or not is the dominant force in any Charlton fan's mind, and when that happens I'm sure we'll all get back to talking football.
Why not just have a Golden Forum Rule for all 3 sites ? If you dish it out, expect to get some back. Everyone knows Ivor is a wrong un - if you lay down with a mangy old Welsh hound, expect to catch his fleas I’m afraid there is a big lesson for you there @lardiman It’s the sanctimonious, holier than thou types that get my goat. Mr Cowardly Custard “Sound As a £” on CL being one prime example, ScratchingHisBalls being another. And @Leftbehind of course.
