Funny, we are doing the same. Oh, no, we have two young children. Wales and the North of England. Similar to the Philippines in no way at all. Enjoy it.

Living a mile from the South Coast seaside and a mile from the New Forest, I'm already on holiday, just like Cor B. So when the Mrs & I go away, we choose cities. Berlin in two weeks, Lisbon later on and a few days back in London to take in the Open House weekend in the autumn. Although we're doing a week in Devon & Cornwall, too, around a visit to see Bjork at The Eden Project.
A couple of music festivals, one in Glasgow, other just outside of Stirling, and maybe a quick week in the sun (probably Portugal) so nothing too exotic - although hoping this weather holds, the Costa del Clyde has been fantastic this week
Normally is Dan - been here nearly 20 years, May is definately the best month to visit Scotland. Where in the Highlands are you planning to visit?
Salalah in Oman with the girlfriend early August and a slightly less exotic 10 days in Cromer with my university age kids late August early September
Off to Crete in just under 5 weeks Rethymnon & can’t wait & maybe a caravan week away in late Aug but not sure where yet, beginning of Oct to lanzarote & that’s me done.
Back from 10days in Turkey (Manavgat)...nice.. 8 music festivals over the summer ( just back from Bearded Theory near Burton).. A month volunteer driving at the World Cup (Hockey, women, London, July)...and at end of summer a week in Carcassonne. It is great (and busy) being retired Sent from my STF-L09 using Tapatalk
I'm off on a cruise late July for a fortnight and it's mine and Mrs Nines 25th anniversary. We sail from and stop off at Southampton - Gibraltar - Cartagena - Barcelona - Palma De Mallorca - Valencia - Malaga - Cadiz - Lisbon. Not very exotic but ticks all the boxes when you have two daughters who are mid teenagers. There's plenty to do on board plus you stop off at a different place nearly every day once you hit Gibraltar. We did an all-inclusive in Ibiza last year and it felt a bit like groundhog day. I don't think I could do that again, and then my niece decides to get married there next year and we're staying in the same hotel I'll miss the first few games of the season as well, which is a bit of a downer.
Will you be in Mallorca week of 16 July? I’ll be there then, on the annual do absolutely nothing, no really NOTHING, for a week lie down, so if you fancy a pint.....need feedback on the cruise, that form of holiday sounds like the seventh circle of hell to me, but of course I’ve never been on one, longest I’ve been on a boat is overnight a couple of times. Our 25th anniversary trip is in the planning stage, but I have three weeks off in October. It’s either the north west US via Chicago or South East Asia at the moment. Weather (ie rain) could be an issue in both of those places at that time of year.
Nice one.....don't forget to pack your insect repellent, the midges will be out in force by then! Locals swear by Avons' "Skin so Soft" - and it seems to work.
If I'm lucky I wont get away this year. If I'm really unlucky I may get 5 days at Pontins, Camber Sands
I really enjoyed it My first real holiday since 2003 The island is beautiful and the people are the friendliest most smiley I have met I might come back to England and Ireland next year
